Game pass has reignited my passion for gaming

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 04:53 PM PDT

I don't know if anyone cares but I feel like posting anyway. I grew up playing games ever since the super nintendo and I've had every xbox generation. Over the past several years, I've slowly lost interest in gaming. I've found most new games boring or too easy or just lacking a compelling story, mostly because I had always stuck to the same ol' franchises. (FO, ES, AC, GTA etc). I was always reluctant to purchase any new games from franchises I've never experienced simply out of fear of not liking it and wasting money. When game pass was announced I brushed it off like, 'ya whatever, I'm not gonna play any of those games anyway'. Then they offered the sweet $1 upgrade deal so I figured why not. Then I started trying games I NEVER would have purchased otherwise, such as We Happy Few, Senua's Sacrifice, dishonored. I found myself playing through the Gears games for the first time and thoroughly enjoying them. I can now freely try new games and new franchises without fear of wasted money. Then I was laid off due to the pandemic and now I have a pretty sweet set-up, 2+ years of game pass, and a newfound excitement for all things gaming. And with Microsoft's recent aquisition of Zenimax, EA play coming to game pass, xcloud, and now the series X. My passion for gaming is back.

    Thank you Xbox!
