I absolutely love achievements and hunting them but it has also kinda ruined my gaming experience. Posted: 24 Nov 2021 01:41 PM PST So, I absolutely love achievements and i love hunting them and getting 1000g on most games I play, however I have found that this tends to dictate the games I play. I'm also browsing my HUGE backlog and gamepass then checking the games on true achievements to see what the length for completion is aswell as any missables, this not only causes me to not play a game but it can also sometimes take hours for me to decide what game I'm going to play. Il play boring crap games just because of easy completions to boost my gamerscore. I have a giant catalogue of games, good ones at that. But when I see 50hrs got 1000gs I think... I could play like 10 3hr games and get 10k gamerscore in less time than that. Don't get me wrong, I still do play games that require a long ass time to complete such as Yakuza 0 but it's like I play a game that requires 30+hrs to complete then to make up for it il play 5-6 short games before I play another long game. I also find it impossible to replay a game I have all the achievements in no matter how much I liked it. I also find it Impossible/waste of time to play a game that doesn't have achievements. I also find it very very hard and near impossible to just stop playing a game even if I dislike it because I popped achievements, so I have to carry on until I got them all. I want to add that I LOVE achievements as it really does make me feel like I'm playing games for a reason and I love the replay abilities because of them. But I'm in a catch because as much as I love em they are gimping my gaming experience. I have a Series X and a Gaming rig with a 3060ti in, il play the same game twice sometimes to get both versions of achievements. I also have the opportunity to play a ton of games on steam including PlayStation exclusive games but because of the lack of Xbox Gamerscore I find it a waste of time playing them. Has anyone else ever felt like this? Maybe not as bad as me, but surely to some extent. I don't even know why I care... its not like people look at my profile and think "wow he 1k'd all those games" no one gives a shit except me. [link] [comments]

Was Firewatch ever one of the Games with Gold? Posted: 24 Nov 2021 09:13 PM PST Firewatch was one of the best games I'd ever played, it had a story that stuck with me for quite a while and I distinctly remember loving the gameplay, I remember running round collecting all of the books in all of the supply crates and bringing them to my watchtower to have as a collection and I remember finding the little turtle as well, I even have all of the achievements, this was back in July 2018 apparently All that aside I never paid for the game, I've also never paid for Game Pass or Game Pass ultimate and when I check the store it still asks me to buy the game. Last night I was talking with my mum and I told her about Firewatch and that she's like the game but when I went to check my games it wasn't there nor was it in the "games with gold" section or the owned games section, going to the store page it doesn't say anything about being able to play the game with gold and it just says to buy it, moreover I can't seem to find it in the games with gold wiki page I have the achievements, memories and playtime for a game I don't own in any capacity and I can find no record of me ever having owned the game, is this normal? Do games with gold expire? Has anyone else had a similar issue? And especially did anyone else manage to get this game whilst it was available with gold? Or am I going crazy? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:14 AM PST Hi all. I downloaded Fear 2 and I'm grateful that Microsoft added it to the BW compatible list. I'm wondering if anybody knows why the original fear, fear 3 and the standalone games aren't available? Are they planning on releasing these at some point? [link] [comments]
Original Xbox one turns on and immediately shuts off Posted: 24 Nov 2021 12:34 PM PST Hey guys, I have one of the old Xbox ones from 2015-2016 or so — it turns on and makes the chime sound and lights up, and then immediately shuts itself off. I wasn't sure if it was a power cord issue so I tried a new one but still same problem. Just wanted to confirm that it's probably just dead, or anything else I should try? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
