Could a hairdryer help an RSoD'd E model?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 12:01 AM PST

    Hello everyone!

I would love to fix my 360E (even temporarily) but I am quite afraid to put a motherboard into the oven, and afaik you're not supposed to use said oven again for foodstuffs.

My question would be if it's possible to heat the CPU enough with a hairdryer that the solder might get reflown enough for it to function.

    Thanks in advance!

    Newer games on 360?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2021 10:00 AM PST

Hopefully I don't mess up this time!

(Think I figured out my original question, but for future reference…)

Will games released for (please don't let this boot me🤞🏻🤞🏻) new(er) models play well on the 360?

My young kiddos were given a 360, and we are all jazzed! Only trouble is that most accompanying games are adult oriented, and these two are 4&7!

So, I'm accruing games but haven't been able to determine if newer model games will work on the 360!?

I apologize, this had almost certainly been addressed, I'm a sleep deprived mama I'm so many levels and everything I'm finding seems to note whether older games will work on newer!

So, sincere apologies if I'm missing something very obvious and blatant!

Also big, big thanks to anyone who can set me straight here!!

    Should it be a problem?

As our consoles age and not all titles are backwards compatible should 360 owners be concerned about hardware longevity or face up to the reality all things come to an end? I only have 200 titles in my collection but for various reasons they are close to my heart, what are your thoughts?

Best adapters to connect unsupported controllers/wheels to the 360

    Posted: 25 Nov 2021 11:10 AM PST

I have a couple of wheels that work on my Switch, Ps3 and Xbox One. I've been recently playing Ridge Racer 7 on the ps3 using an adapter called "myflash magic ns". This adapter not only does it allow you to synch/connect unsuported controllers but it also has a usb port to which you can connect controllers. The magic of this is that if you connect a controller via usb and another one via wireless to the Mgic NS, it detects both of them as "player 1". And why is that amazing?? Well, because that way you can connect a wheel via USB and synch a joycon wirelessly. This way you can drive with only the left hand, accelerate and brake with the pedals and shift gears and activate nitro with your right joycon. I know it doesnt really sound that cool, but if you wanna drift "realistically", you have to do it with one hand, but at the same time you also have to be able to change gears. And yeah, I know some wheels have a shift stick, but you still have to press a button on the wheel for nitro (which for me isnt as natural as just using the joycon for nitro and shifting).

I know the xbox one has a feature called "co-pilot" which allows you to use 2 controllers as player 1, but my interest here is more regarding the Xbox 360 (cause I wanna play Ridge Racer 6, which isnt compatible with the Xbox one).

So my first question would be if there is any way to do something like that on the Xbox 360 (so I can use my right joycon to shift gears and activate nitro while using a wheel).

In addition, the wheel I use on the 360 isnt that good, but I have 2 other wheels that are much better that work on ps3 and switch. So I was wondering if you guys can tell me a bit about the adapters that I could use to plug those unsuported wheels to the 360.

I read about cronusmax, but it's very expensive (about 80€), while the Magic NS cost me less than 30€. Also, I am not sure if chronus max will work for connecting third party wheels.

So.... is there any alternative to chronus max that allows me to connect unsuported wheels to the 360??

    Thanks
