    How Xbox Broke my Heart: Open Letter to Phil and the amazing team Xbox

    Hello Mr. Spencer, team Xbox,

    I live in Peru and I am typing this letter to you since I know how you care for us gamers and I wanted to tell you my story. My first experience with the Xbox was unforgettable, the 360 was rising to power and Gears of War had already come out. My cousin (who is a huge Microsoft fan and even worked there) showed me the gameplay (of Gears) and I was astonished. I immediately asked for an Xbox for myself but here they were scarce here. We had a trip to the U.S. and my family stopped at a gamestop (lol) before returning home and there I got my Xbox Elite with Gears of War and Half-Life 2 (the orange box). I was the happiest teen you could ever see that day. I was a huge Half-Life fan and was extremely sad when I found out that our old family PC couldn't ever run the game. Xbox made it possible. Upon entering the online mode I immediately found out that Peru was not an Xbox Live supported region. "Fine", I thought, "I am sure someday soon they will add us", since I saw many other regions. I was forced to create a U.S. based account at the time to enjoy the store and stuff only Xbox live supported countries had. Years passed and I got many of my friends into the Xbox family, encouraging them to buy original games and get the Xbox live Gold service. They tried it at my house and they loved how fast the UI was, how achievements loaded so quickly, how you could join games seamlessly and how stable it all was. Other friends had PS3 systems and while we discussed, it always ended up in Xbox being vastly superior in most things but was killed by a "small" problem: Peru didn't have official Xbox Live support while PlayStation did. They had just opened Store specially for Peru at the time and it was gaining traction. Everything worked fine. Due to IP checks, some games were not being able to be downloaded and enjoyed on Xbox (even if you had a US based account) while the PS3 versions were fully operational in the peruvian online store. "Wait until the next gen console", I always said (and my Xbox loving friends too), "we will be added, I know it". I even defended Games for Windows Live and thought it was going to be the future for uniting the PC and console ecosystems (it ended up being the first try and error after all right?).

    Enter the Xbox One... We all know how that went (at launch). Even then I was standing firm and thought: "If they add us I will get one, no matter what. I know things will improve". So I checked the website for the list of supported countries they day of the launch, and the next, and the next, and the next... every night for weeks. I then discussed with my friends: "what if we ask support directly?" They told us "Xbox is always working to enable more supported regions and make the service a worldwide experience, check back soon". Time passed and my Xbox loving friends, one by one, began buying a PS4 or switching to PC. I ended up getting a PC but never lost that spec of hope. Once a year I asked in the support chat the same question and I always get the same answer (stated above) almost a copy paste.

    Fast forward to the present day and I am glad that the winds are shifting and Xbox is doing amazing things with their new consoles and services (Xbox developer mode, cloud gaming, Game Pass, unified ecosystems with PC and other consoles, etc). Xbox, just as I predicted, is becoming the future of gaming (or at least a big leader on that), sadly I think it might be a future us peruvians don't seem to be included on (anytime soon). Today, I contacted support for the last time and cracked open a beer to wait for the answer and, just as expected: "Xbox is always working to enable more supported regions and make the service a worldwide experience, check back soon". I smiled, "I guess this is it", I thought to myself, closed the browser and finished my beer in one big sip.

    Since I am a grown man, I know how a business works, maybe we are just not profitable and that is alright. Maybe other countries are more profitable so they have priority to be added, maybe there are more factors I don't know about, maybe Microsoft has other projects so funds and investments are being directed to things that make more profits than adding us as a region. Microsoft is a business, not a charity so no hard feelings on this matter at all, I understand, but in a day and age where even Nintendo has added us as a region and has a store for us, I can't find the strength to keep rooting for you anymore, I don't find in me the same eagerness to share Xbox news and how you are paving the way to the future of gaming and finally, I can't tell my friends who live here (even if wanted to) that Xbox is the best option for them here without knowing that I'd be lying.

    When I was younger I always felt a little heartbroken everytime I saw and played on my Xbox 360 (still alive and kicking) on the living room due to the situation, but now I understand "why" so, again, no hard feelings. Despite that, I think this is one of the things I just have to let go. This is not a "goodbye" by any means, this is more like an "I hope to see you again". I hope to see you again, Xbox, the way I did all those years ago when you made my wish of playing Half-Life 2 come true. Until then, this is Bisonfan95 signing out.     Need help finding a game for OG Xbox

    Hi! I am kinda new to this, but I need help. Does anyone know the name of a game that came out on the original xbox where you got superpowers and fought the military or something. The first part og the game, i think, is you running away from things that can kill you. But you get powers or something later in the game.. All help is aprecieted.

    Xbox controller wont turn on even with new batteries, connected to a power outlet, or connected to xbox using USB.

    I've tried everything. I even googled it but the options i tried don't work. On Friday I was able to use my xbox and controller as normal, but the next day I couldnt turn on either controller at all. I just bought the second controller in march I believe. I never had this issue before.

    Testing Game by Game on the Pass PC, especially the latest releases and checking their Performance

    Hi All!

    As the title says, I am trying to test game by game on the game pass for pc. I want to provide a bit of an insight of what a typical PC gamer expects from a Game Store ( Steam, Epic, Battlenet, Xbox Store). I have run into several issues when testing the same game from different stores, for example Halo:MCC runs VERY differently in the Xbox PC app when compared to the Steam version.

    The goal of this video series is:

    1) Provide insight for the gamers that have/want to be part of the awesome Game Pass experience.

    2) Flow back some of the issues back to Team Xbox for them to work on some of the issues.

    3) Improve the overall experience of the PC consumer and obviously improve the GP even more.

    Issues I keep encountering so far:

    - Fullscreen mode in most of the Xbox PC app appears to not be real fullscreen but rather borderless windowed.

    - Command line arguments: there are no command lines arguments for the player to be able to modify or improve their experience. For example, Psychonauts 2 has DX12 issues apparently, some people were able to fix them by running the game in DX11 by using command line arguments in Steam, not possible on the Xbox PC app.

    - Some games have had MP-Coop issues, apparently this has to be regarding the crossplay-crossplatform, sometimes some invite issues. It is not SUPER bad but the experience might be better.

    So basically my power brick is on orange, and should it be white, it sometimes comes on but if I unplug it goes back to orange and does the blipping sound again, do I need a new brick and should the brick be white light even if the Xbox is not plugged into the power brick

    Having some problems with my controller and headsets

    I'm having a little issue with my controller and using a headset for audio.

    Earlier today, I plugged my computer headset into the 3.5 slot on the controller and it automatically detected it and audio came out of it.

    Now, 5 hours later, it's not working at all and I don't understand why. I've tried three different sets of headphones and there's no audio coming from them, at all.

    Now there's a slight static from the headphones when they're plugged into the controller which makes me think there's power and they're working, but no xbox audio at all comes through them.

    I've tried going through every option in the settings, I've restarted the console several times with the headphones In and out, and I'm at my wits end

    Any ideas?

    Help with picking audio output.

    So I have a Insignia 4K built in Fire TV.

    I also have a Xbox Series S and I am wondering what the best audio output setting is on my Xbox?

    Right now it is on Bitstream out with Dolby Digital selected. I was wondering if that is the best or if there is another possibly better setting.

    My sound is coming through my tv speakers.

    Best XBOX 360 model to avoid red ring of death issues.

    Hi guys,

    Which model of the XBOX 360 is least prone to the errors/dying that they were plagued with when they were released? Was the issue ever fixed on the later releases?

    I am interested in getting one to pay with my partner after work on Friday nights, but I recall that they were plagued with problems when I was a teenager.
