I've already got 360 Neighborhood installed and am able to copy files to and from the console, as well as launch XEX executables from windows. However, i've noticed that the images i'm copying over aren't showing up on the XEX/EXE ONLY, XCONTENT, or ALL XBOX 360 EXECUTABLES menus of the dash. Am i doing something wrong? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 01:55 PM PST I always thought I could just pop in a ssd for my 360 and be good but apparently that's not how it works for 360's as the SATA interface and formatting is very particular and thus only official xbox drives are supported (yay anti-consumerism!) Anyway, I see that there's plenty of knock offs out there but it seems that they may not operate as a true external and I'd like to be able to play original xbox games as well as 360 games on my console. I see that there's new hard drives for $75 on amazon but that's just absurd to me. So, what are the best options for hard drives? Can I do an SSD install? | Can’t read original Xbox discs Posted: 16 Jan 2021 01:09 PM PST I have the Xbox 360 S 4 gb model, the one that came with the Kinect. I have an official Microsoft 250 gb hard drive installed, which has the update file on it that allows it to play original Xbox games. The console reads 360 discs with no problem, but all of the original Xbox games I've tried start up fine (I don't get the "game could not start, try downloading again" error), but after playing them for a few minutes they freeze and they show a "disc is dirty" error corresponding to each game. To be clear, it is an error message within the game, not an error message that displays and pops up the Xbox 360 guide or anything like that. I would figure that it's the disc drive, but why does it read 360 games just fine then? [link] [comments] | ||
