Have XBOX series X Reviews been Fair?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 05:48 AM PST

Not trying to stir the pot but so far every review I've read regarding the PS5 has been overwhelmingly positive. Even though it's massive, underpowered and is slightly slower loading games when compared to the XBOX series X. Yet retails for the same price.

Add the fact that every XBOX series X review ignores the power, speed and value advantage of the XBOX when compared to the PS5 and I start to think game journalists are doing consumers a disservice. Am I crazy?

    Newbie to Xbox

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 02:28 PM PST

I haven't purchased a new console in 20 years, but was blown away from MS FllightSim and told it was coming to the new XBox--so it's truly the the only reason I purchased the Xbox Series X. I snagged on on Microsoft's website, and it's scheduled to be delivered November 10.

But, since that game has no release date, I may as well have some ability to play games for the kids and watch 4K Movies.

I'm likely going to subscribe to the Xbox Game Pass. Is the current Costco deal of 24 months for ~$98 a good price? Am I missing out on games by now buying the Ultimate version? Or all the games are the same? But, if I buy this 24 month pass, can I upgrade internally to the Ultimate version if needed?

    Thanks for the help.

    Cheapest way to get Gamepass?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 01:35 PM PST

I've read post about people getting Gamepass for like a $1. How do you do that? And is there a way to get a year subscription for cheaper than the $130 something on cdkey?

Firstly, sorry for taking so long to get this done. I've had a mare these past couple of days. I've tried to answer as many questions as I could find from my previous posts. If I've left anything out that you wanted to know, I'll try and answer here, no more embargo.

PSA: If you have a data cap, don't forget about it for next gen! If shifting consoles, don't forget about "auto-update".

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 06:56 AM PST

We run 2 TVs in our household with 1 console hooked up on each (Xbox One and Xbox One X). Yesterday I managed to get the Xbox Series X early, so decided to shift each spot around and retired the OG Xbox One. All was well and good except for me forgetting to turn off "auto-update" on the new "secondary" console (which was now hooked up to the old console's external hard drive). The Xbox One X decided it would be a good idea to update everything on the hard drive that I neglected to update... about 1 TB worth of data overnight.

Don't be like me. Manage your data and don't forget that when moving devices they will retain their settings! Luckily I have a courtesy month. Either way though - ouch.
