    This news has been all over the reddit all week. Please do some research or look through the sub for an answer to your question. GTA is no longer on game pass. No, you can't play it unless u own the game. Yes, all your progress will carry on if you buy the game.

    Call of the Sea from a new Spanish team called Out of the Blue. Action-Adventure puzzle game with heavy lovecraftian inspiration.

    Scorn... needs little introduction. A first person action-adventure game from a new Serbian studio with FPS and puzzle elements.

    The Ascent (assisted with Doom 2016, Wolfenstein, Gears of War, Bulletstorm) from Swedish dev Neon giant is a cyberpunk Diablo-like ARPG with 4 player co-op and destructible environments, touting up to 120fps.

    Disclaimer, some of the others shown at IX may be exclusive as well, but we don't have confirmation yet. Scarlett Nexus and Second Extinction are looking likely.

    EDIT: The Ascent doesn't seem to have confirmation of games pass anywhere, sorry about that. The other 3 do though.

    It has since been confirmed that Second Extinction is also exclusive. Made by a smaller team in Avalanche studious (Mad Max, Rage 2).

    Just finished it and wow, after a slow start the game is amazing from the visuals to the soundtrack. The gun play is so satisfying especially after upgrading your guns. As a 33 year old gamer games have to have something about them to finish and I could not put this down especially on the hard setting.

    How does doom eternal compare?

    They're more simplistic than Ori sure but they're really tightly designed and colourful platformer/beat em up/ Metroidvania games. Both platforming and fighting is intertwined which I think is really really satisfying. The story and characters are funny and charming and it has a Mexican day of the dead colour palette and art style.

    Unfortunately the second one is the only one available on game pass currently but both are worth checking out!

    For the past few weeks I've been playing gta using gamepass instead of using the disc. Now that gta is no longer on gamepass, I tried to launch it from the disc and it won't work. When I try to launch it, it shows "sign in or renew the subscription". When I try to select the disc, it shows up as "install disc" and shows "eject the disc, then try again" when I try to select it. I've ejected it and restarted my console a few times now to no avail. Could it be something wrong with my disc drive? I do have an older xbox from 2015 or so.

    edit- clearing the mac address seemed to work, althought idk if it was a combination of uninstalling and clearing it or not

    Now, mind you, some of the criticisms I've seen are rather valid. It has limited maps and modes as well as infrequent but noticeable hitches during matches. However, the core characters and combat are really fun, fun enough that I find its low review scores a little disheartening. If you have Game Pass, I'd really recommend giving it a try. It's been helping with my quarantine blues as of late.

    What do you all think were the most significant advances in gaming this generation apart from graphics?

    Like we had 3d games in the ps/n64 era, online gaming in the ps2/xbox era, introduction of indie games, improved online experiences and an overall improvement of AI/physics and the general quality of 3d games in the PS3/X360 era. The PS4/XBOne era seems of more of the same. Did we have any true major innovations? Don't get me wrong I think we had some of the best games of all time this generation. More of an evolution and refinement than revolution though.

    My Xbox One finally kicked the bucket today.

    It's been through 7 years of relentless games of CoD, Skyrim, Fallout, GTA, and Sea of Thieves. I really wish it didn't die as I was about to tune in to some Sea of Thieves game play.

    I also wanted it go wait just a taaaaddd longer so I could replace it with the Series X, but it is what it is. Long live my precious Xbox One!

    Here's to a likely upgrade in the next couple weeks!
