| Posted: 19 Feb 2020 02:18 PM PST Yesterday I bought some new games for almost nothing cause I'm cheap. Inserted the disc to install GTA 4. Then I tripped on the cable from my controller on my way back. In the process I pulled the Xbox out of the TV stand. It fell about 20 cm, and was still running fine. Even played the game that evening. Then today when I started it back up it all goes good, untill it hangs up on the startup screen and gives me an error. And so, I want to say some last words for my fallen comrade. "I would love to see if I can repair you. But deep down I know I should just let you rest in peace and not mangle with your remains. It is time for us both to move on. You, to where all your brethren are. And I should move with the future RIP my old friend. You gave me lots of good times, and even more bad ones. Countless hours of companionship in nice solitude. May your savegames be forever in the Microsoft cloud." (Really hope so, would be a shame to have to replay every game again) [link] [comments] | ||

I mainly want to play BO2 and MW series on the 360 but before investing money I want to make sure my time won't be spent playing in modded lobbies or only being able to find one lobby. | Posted: 19 Feb 2020 04:55 PM PST I bought far cry 2 and decided to play it on 360 and not on one. The problem is that the framerate is horrible. Its like 15-20 fps. I erased the cache on the console and also downloaded a 4mb update. Nothing changed. Whats wrong. I dont remember far cry 2 being that slow. [link] [comments] | ||

I have it installed to my hard drive, but the game still plays from the disc, and if I play it from the hdd with no disc inserted it plays halo 3 for whatever reason. Is there any way to fix this? Posted: 19 Feb 2020 04:04 PM PST So many consoles like the PS1 & 2, Gamecube, N64 and even the X360 and PS3 get older and older by the day, I wonder if any company will ever step up and develop good quality controllers for these consoles? You know, like HD RetroVision and Pound make cables other repros, not like Hyperkin and random chinese companies making subpar controllers that simply don't stand with the originals. I know of course we can repair the original controllers, but not everyone has the time/skills to solder 2 new analog sticks or replace a faulty button. And yes, of course we still have plenty of original MS controllers to go by, but what about 5 years from now, when nostalgia for the 360 really kicks off? Plus, the price for 360 and OG Xbox controllers just keeps on rising! I mean, how hard can it be? Is there just no demand? Or are there more obstacles than that? [link] [comments] | ||
| How to play xbox original games Posted: 19 Feb 2020 02:09 PM PST So I recently found an old Xbox original game (the Urbz; Sims in the city). I only have an old Xbox 360. I checked this game is backwards compatible, I updated my Xbox through USB drive to the current software and tried to run the game but it just says game is still not compatible, and to check online for more info, but I can't find any... Anyone have any idea how to get around this / help me, I'm not very tech savvy. Just for more info the last time the Xbox was updated was 2006, it is not connected to Xbox live nor does is have access to be without me finding an Ethernet cable / buying the wireless modem. It's happened a number of times, and usually the only thing I can do to restart it is to unplug the power cable from the back (turning it off from the power button stopped working a while back). However, I lost my grip somewhere along the way, and tilted the console which ended up scratching the disk to nigh-unusable status. :( So right now I'm rebuying the game off the store, and while it's downloading, I just wanted to ask a couple of things:
