    Microsoft has silently corrected MY $0.05 a day Game Pass Ultimate account to a full priced 3 month account. Check your account to make sure you aren't changed also.

    I give up trying to post this in /r/games to let people know as they keep finding reasons to remove it.

    As the title says, MS seemingly corrected this error silently by changing it from $0.05 per day to a $44.99 charge for 3 months. No email in my inbox notifying me of that.

    Check your account if you don't want to be surprised.

    If I already own a physical copy of, lets say, GTA 5 but it breaks. Can I buy it digitally on the Microsoft store and keep the discs’ progress? Asking for my brother.

    TL:DR - Please help with set up on a new Xbox S for 2 7yr old family members.

    Hi all. So for Christmas, my 2 nephews got gifted a brand new Xbox S. They're 7 years old, and it's their first console. I'm going over tomorrow to set it up and need a bit of help - I've got my own Xbox so I'm vaguely familiar with the ecosystem. One of the boys has had an email address set up, linking it to an xbox live account.

    I'm wanting to set the 2nd boy up with an xbox account and possibly set both as child accounts. Going to get a XBGPU trial on my Sister's card so I can download them some "child friendly" games.

    Can both Nephew's Xbox accounts be linked to one single Game Pass account, so either of them can play on their own?

    I've heard about game sharing, so the boys have access to all my games. How would I go about this? Is there any way I can put some kind of age restriction on titles so they don't end up playing Resident Evil or Sekiro through my account (They're not even allowed to play Fortnite). Is it a security concern on my part?

    I'm not even sure where to start, so can anybody help with a run through if possible? Cheers in advance :)

    Question: Has anyone elses Xbox One X crapped out on them after installing physical disc?

    So I have had an Xbox One X, couldn't have been more than maybe 6-8 months. no drops, no knock over, nothing to make me say "Ahhh, probably when I did <this> it caused the issue"

    but rewind to 3 weeks ago, I decided to reinstall Battelfront 2 because of the update and all the hype. when I put the disc into the tray, it spun up super fast but I figured it would slow down - for about an hour, my dumb ass, hearing this rapid RPM sound, just kept playing the xbox while the game installed. game finished installing and I went to play a few online matches but noticed weird glitches and hang ups, figured it was due to poor server connectivity so I closed the game and played Division 2 (a digital download).

    While playing Division 2, I noticed more glitching, more hang ups and enemies disappearing and materializing out of nowhere, I decided it had been enough play time (had spent in total like 4 hours in total, before during and after install) and turned it off. went to power it back up a couple hours later and it was doing all sorts of weird things,

    • Keep getting stuck on the introduction splash screen
    • Wouldn't log my account in
    • Wouldn't load up any graphics or images on home screen

    when I finally got it to boot up fully, I launched Division 2 again and it cut power (by itself). I tried this about 4 times before I realized my xbox is done for. then it clicked, "the fucking install did it!"

    so my question, has anyone else recently experienced this with an Xbox One X?

    Monster Truck Madness on the original Xbox

    I was recently watching old intros from games that me and my dad use to play. I stumbled acrost Monster Truck Madness 1&2 and I saw they were published by Microsoft. So I started to wonder why wasn't MTM 1&2 a launch title for the original Xbox? I feel like it wasn't because of WCW or Monster Jam not wanting it to go through.

    Apps stuck updating at 0.0%

    Any app I try updating won't progress at all. Cancelling them and restarting the update doesn't fix it either.

    Looking to mod xbox. Not sure where to start

    Sorry if this isn't allowed. First time using reddit on PC and my first time in this sub.

    My husband has an original Xbox that he would like to mod (and I volunteered to help.) He says there is a way to get it to play all sorts of games including NES, SNES, etc. My first thought was to add on a Linux system and then add on different emulators. Is that how it should be done or are there other ways?

    Can someone point me in the right direction? I tried Google but didn't get much.

    Photos from nowhere glitch

    So before I start, this could probably be posted in other subreddits as well (so do let me know if that's the case) because it was pretty strange and not what I'd normally class as a glitch on an Xbox, i.e. the game lagging or the player character bugging out, you know? This was much different.

    It happened about 4/5 years ago whilst I was at uni and spending most of my time either partying, avoiding lectures/work or playing video games (I did graduate with a relatively alright grade eventually so don't fret). On the day it happened I had woken up in the morning and decided I would not be attending any lectures. I remember turning on my Xbox and then leaving my room to talk to my much more studious housemate who was about to leave for his first lecture of the day. Upon returning to my room, I noticed something was off.

    Do you remember back in the day if you'd left a computer on the home/start up screen it began to play a slideshow of photos on your computer? I'm not sure if this is a feature that has remained but it reminds me of good old Windows XP I think. Well, basically this was happening on my Xbox but with photos of me.

    Now I vaguely remember there was a feature on Xbox once that allowed you to go on Facebook via the browser so I wasn't immediately worried as I figured they were just coming from my there. I was more amused at first than anything as I had used this feature once or twice in the past but never seen this happen before. What worried me was that I didn't recognise the photos being displayed, as in they were of me at my age at the time but I had no recollection of them being taken. Now like I said earlier, I was out drinking or at parties a lot of the time at uni (more the former) so the idea of me not remembering a photo being taken during a night out was not totally alien to me. However, given I was more active on Facebook at the time (not so much nowadays), if any photo had been added of me and I had been tagged in it I would have seen them, right?

    Now at this stage after seeing several photos I was very weirded out. I remember calling out to my friend in the next room who had not quite left for his lecture yet and we had a brief exchange about it but I don't think he fully grasped how odd it was. I regret that I didn't photo or video what was happening because it was truly bizarre. Imagine seeing photos of yourself on your Xbox, completely unprompted that you had never seen before. Creepy, right?

    This is my first time sharing this with anyone online and I regret some of the finer details of it have been lost to time, like how many photos there were (I think 4/5) and whether I had to log in first before they appeared (was this an option on Xbox 360?). As I recall, they were all mostly just of myself though some may have had my friends in as well.

    I've mentioned this to a few friends ahead of posting this to get their take and several have mentioned that my friend who I spoke to on the day may have been pranking/trolling me, though they agree regardless it is very strange. Whilst we did play pranks on each other a lot (making each other jump, sticking chocolate buttons to each other's PC monitor etc) I think this was a little out of his remit of tomfoolery. Furthermore logistically, I have no idea how someone would go about pulling this off and it seems far too elaborate for him to dream up (no disrespect to him at all).

    This is my first reddit post so apologies for any confusion/needless waffle.

    If anyone has any idea what the fuck I experienced or has any questions do let me know.

    How to shut down xbox

    I've had my Xbox One S since last christmas, and I often just use it to watch youtube before bed on my tv, but once I hold the power button on the controller, and hit shut down in the thing that shows up, It powers off, but still continues to spin it's hard drive and fan for like 4 hours after that..... since It's literally 2 meters and in direct line of sight from me trying to sleep, it's very damn annoying, how do I completely turn it off aside from pulling the plug like I used to do for 3 months until I broke a cable and had to buy a new one because of the constant in-out.... It's in it's "non-power saving" state since I first set it up, aka it powers on in seconds. But I tried turning the power saving on and same problem, it makes noise hours after being powered down, and in power saving I have to wait a few minutes if I want to watch a quick video... What am I missing here?

    Xbox 360e dead ? after installing an update.

    I bought an old Xbox 360e, I tested it with old games it worked fine but after I installed the latest update to play late games it refuses to turn on or at least show up on the screen.
    when I click the power button only the mid dot turns green and the ring doesn't and nothing shows up on the screen either.
    I've tried everything different TVs and AV /HDMI cables resetting the screen settings using the controller but nothing solved the issue,i even tried waiting for it but nothing shows up.
    am thinking the main "Bios" got corrupted, is there a way to "format" it? or at least a hard reset

    Last night I entered in a 12 month xbox live subscription, instead I got ultimate game pass until May 10th of this year. Is there anyway I can fix this and get my full year of xbox live. Thanks for any help!

    (PC) Xbox beta doesn't remember that I own Game Pass Ultimate

    Hey,

    I recently built a PC after playing on Xbox for a couple of years. I've bought Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on my Xbox account for this reason alone. So, I downloaded Xbox(beta) on my PC and logged into my Xbox account to download some games from Game Pass. I got it to work the first time (not sure how) and downloaded 2 games. However, now, the app doesn't seem to remember that I own Game Pass Ultimate and prompts me to buy it again. Even after logging in to my account that has it.

    My Windows version is up to date.
    I also created a post on r/XboxGamePass and other people also have the same problem.

    Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Xbox store needs an upgrade

    Don't know if it's just me but the Xbox store is super finicky, it takes effort to use when it shouldn't, I just want to lazily scroll thru lists of games to waste my money on. Almost 100 % of the time the videos that autoplay will take ages to pause or just won't pause. sometimes it won't even let me scroll to buy the game. In fact, one time I was looking at buying battlefront 2, the video plays I hit down nothing happens so spammed my controller and bought it, and you know what, its not too bad

    maybe add mouse support and an option to remove the autoplay?
