(UPDATE) I just had my Xboxes stolen!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 03:37 PM PST

Just received a call from the detective working on my case. They found my Xboxes and some of my other things. He created an account and played on it a bit before pawning them a week after the theft. Unfortunately they have been submitted as evidence and I will have to wait until the DA decides if they need the actual items or just pictures for the trial. Im hoping the guy will just plead out and I get my stuff back in the next month or two.

Thank you guys for all the advice you gave me on my previous post!

    MICROSOFT REWARDS DASHBOARD

    TUTORIAL:

STEP 1. ] The Rewards Dashboard "BASICS"
    First sign up and register
your Xbox MS Acct. at https://rewards.microsoft.com/

After you sign up and register your MS acct. go to https://account.microsoft.com/rewards

To the RIGHT of your name you will see: IMAGE LINK

    • Available Points: The points you have achieved
    • Streak Count- Shows how many days in a row you've completed the "Daily Set" (gives bonuses)
    • Points Break Down- This is where you will earn points for Bing and Mobile Searches

Step 2. ] The Rewards Dashboard "DAILY SET" IMAGE LINK
There is the "Daily Set"- this will have you click on a link for 10+ points / Quiz for 10 pts (sometimes more) and and then click on a Poll for 10pts each sometimes more but a MINIMUM of 30pts this will also count for your STREAK REWARDS. see below for more info

STEP 3.] The Rewards Dashboard "POINTS BREAK DOWN" & IMAGE LINK

Here you will find the following:

    • Microsoft Edge Bonus- Image Link Click on this and make sure you are signed into the Bing Browser and this should open up the Bing Browser and you will open up MS Edge do 4 SEARCHES and you will be awarded 20pts Max just for using the Bing Browser.

    • Next "PC Search: Image Link Continue using the Bing Browser for searches! You will earn 5pts for every search. This will net you a max of 150pts (30 searches) Here is the fastest way and easiest way!!! I just go to my Bing News Page and to the left click on the menu, just click and scroll down to the next, takes 10seconds IMAGE LINK

    • Next Mobile Searches: Image Link Get on your smartphone and download BING Search Engine App. Then ON YOUR PHONE SIGN INTO BING as the same acct. your using for rewards. Then do 20 searches for 5pts a piece earning you a max of 100pts.

So now your Completed Total should look like this: Image Link

    • Microsoft Edge Bonus: 20pts
    • PC Search: 150pts
    • Mobile Search:100pts
    • Daily Set & Other Activities: 30pts min. (Daily Set)
Minimal TOTAL: 300 pts per day

And that is pretty much how I earn 300pts a day. Just using the Rewards Page Dashboard. I swear it takes less to do searches then it did to read this tutorial! Once you Earn 500pts you will Hit Rank 2 you will stay at Rank 2 until the end of the month when your rank will reset back to Rank 1, then rinse and repeat. You gain rank by earning Reward Points and coming back to keep your streaks up.

Step 4. ] The Rewards Dashboard "DAILY STREAKS"
I didn't figure this into the 300pt a day total cause at the end, to me, it's like a free lil bonus. Here is how it works!
Every day that you log in and complete the Daily Set earns you days counting toward your streak.
For example when you log in and complete your Daily Set for 3 days in a row, you will earn a BONUS GIFT of 45 points!
5 days later on Day 8 after you complete your Daily Set, you will be awarded a Bonus Gift of 75points!!
If you keep your streak up you can earn a maximum of 150pts every 10 days!!
Here is the Streak Bonus Table:

    • Streak 1: Day 3 (3 days) 45pts
    • Streak 2: Day 8 (5 days) 75pts
    • Streak 3: Day 13 (5 days) 75pts
    • Streak 4: Day 20 (7 days) 105pts
    • Streak 5: Day 27 (7 days) 105pts
    • Streak 6: Day 34 (7 days) 105pts
    • Streak 7: Day 44 (10 days) 150pts
    • Streak 8: Day 54 & Every 10 Days Following +150pts

You can see how this is a nice lil bonus gift that can earn you on a good month an extra 450pts, but take note if you forget one day to do your "Daily Set" your streak will reset back to a day 1 count causing you to start your streak all over again!

Step 5. ] The Rewards Dashboard "Leveling"
There are two levels to earn, Level 1 and Level 2. Each month you will start at level 1, after you reach and earn 500pts you will be bumped up to Level 2 and stay at level 2 for the rest of the month. This benefits you when redeeming your points for prizes such as Gift Cards, Xbox Live Gold. For example, At Level 1, an Xbox 1 Month Of Live Gold will cost 9,500 points. But at Level 2, a 1 Month Xbox Live Gold will cost you a discounted price of only 8,500pts saving you a total of 1000 points.

    Redeeming Points Earned

This section we will discuss how to Redeem your Reward Points for Rewards!

After you have saved enough points you can redeem points using the PC Rewards Dashboard, Xbox Console App, or by using the Xbox Mobile Game Pass App. On the PC dashboard go to and click on "Redeem" Here you will be taken to a Page where you can redeem your points for Sweepstakes Giveaways, (which I never win)

If you now click on "SHOP" IMAGE LINK here it will take you to a new page where you can use your points on things such as Game Pass, Xbox Live gold, Skype, Xbox and MS Gift Cards, and other things. Each month you will find a HOT DEAL which will discount items you can shop for. The Hot Deal will run from the 15th of one month to the 15th of the next month and then it will change to a new Shop Item.
Take for example, here is a 3 Month Xbox Game Pass (image above) for only 18,000 points. Originally this would cost you 21K Points saving you a big total of 3000 points.

    "EMAILS" & "SHOP and EARN"

    • Microsoft Rewards Emails
Earn extra Rewards Points via email! Every so often throughout the month MS Rewards will send you an email that will award you 50 Reward Points just by clicking the links in the email and answering the quizzes in the email. To sign up for this enter your email here at https://getrewarded.microsoft.com/newsletter/us

    • SHOP & EARN:
Earn up to 20 points per $1 spent at the Microsoft Store on Xbox. Terms apply.

    Game Pass Punch Cards

    • Complete 1 More of Any Achievement while Playing Subnautica
    • Return back to the Xbox Rewards App and Click Icon to Claim your +200pt Reward

Pro Tip #1 from /u/ichinii] There are Punch Cards that will award sometimes 4000pts or more for buying selected digital games. This offer does not apply to pre-ordered games. You must buy the game after it releases on launch day or a time period after release to earn these pile of points.

    Earn More, Achieve More

Complete Any 1 Achievement and Earn 50pts Image Link

Also new to the Xbox App is the ability to earn 50pts daily by just completing any 1 Achievement from any game. This will award you 50 pts a day!
    NOTE:
On all Punch cards, make sure you come back to the Xbox App and click the "Claim Your Points" icon

My wife to this day has given me 5000 pts a month for Sept. 2018, so if you do the math you can again see how this will add up!

Also just to note my wife has an Xbox Live acct, she has had since the Xbox 360 days.
Program Requirements. You need a valid Microsoft account and your devices must meet the minimum system requirements. The Program is open to users who reside in the markets listed in the FAQ. Other Updates, TIPS, and FAQ

    • Reddit Microsoft Rewards Page
      Link- https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftRewards/
This is truely an amazing community! Here you will find very helpful posts on ways to complete punchcards, help with achievements to complete punchcards, and just anything you have to ask or help others with.

    • Beware of Exploits!!
      Beware of Exploits!
There was recently an exploit on an offer that awarded 300pts.
Many people tried this exploit and gained at the most a $60 gift card, however, every account that took advantage of the exploit has had their MS Rewards Account Suspended Indefinitely. Overall it's best just to save your points legitimately cause in the end it's not worth the suspension and loosing your points.

    • Microsoft Rewards Discounts
Microsoft Rewards often has sales (normally starting the 15th of the month and going to the 15th of the following month, meaning a Rewards sale for Xbox Game Pass not on sale a 3month pass will cost you 17000 points, but when they have a special offer a 3 Month Game Pass will be reduced by 20% costing you only 14,400 points instead of the original 17,000. So it is good to horde your points until a deal comes along! These deals happen every few months and seem to rotate between Game Pass / Xbox Live /Xbox Gift Cards / MS Gift Cards/ and Skype.

    • Updates
I will keep this post updated as much as possible, even after this post has been archived.

I have used MS Rewards to earn Gift Cards, Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass.
If you have any questions at all please feel free to post below or to Message me directly.
Also, let me know if I missed anything or you want any further instructions, as I will try and keep this updated

Also, please save your Reddit Gold and Silver, I have already received Reddit Gold for my 2019 Edition of this tutorial. I just enjoy making this tutorial for my Xbox Reddit Family to help them take advantage of this great Rewards Program!!
Here is just a quick bio about my quests. I have earned 244,152 to date and have currently 164,525pts saved. I have used my points to buy a years worth of Xbox Live Gold, as well as several games, so as you can see this is a great program to help you earn points to spend on anything Xbox related!
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial; it was my pleasure making it for you!

The new Xbox dashboard is actually great!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 01:43 PM PST

The last system update took its place on 22nd of November 2019 according to my stats but the visual change of the dashboard apparently happened overnight.

I'm not a member of the Xbox Insider Program or anything like that, just a regular user.

Either way, I really like the way the devs has simplified the whole interface. It's minimalistic, fresh and responsive on my X1S.

Does anyone have an idea why there are people who've received such an update earlier than everyone else without knowingly participating in any program?

Help a dad pick a console for his 10 year old

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 08:25 AM PST

My 10 year old son is a great gamer - on Nintendo Switch. Lots of fun interesting games there. But he also wants to do some stuff that isn't on switch, eg. Madden and others.

So I look into the Xbox. I think I have the difference between X and X figured out. And I see that there will likely be a whole new generation of consoles for Xbox (and PS) next holiday, so don't want to break the bank.

So my question then is, bang for the buck, recognizing the relatively shorter shelf life it will likely have given we will upgrade at some point in the future, what is the best console and deal to get for right now?

Eg. I see a Walmart deal for $159 for a 1TB One S with free Fortnite, Sea of Thieves and Minecraft. Is that a good deal? Are those games free to download anyway? Would an extra controller bundle be a better deal?

And for that matter... obviously most here will say Xbox, but Xbox vs. PS debate??

I guess I'm a boomer now, lol. Any help is appreciated.

Xbox Elite Controller V2 Disconnection - Possible Solution

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 09:03 AM PST

I'll preface this by saying I have tested this rather extensively and believe I have found the root cause of my disconnection. This may not be the same for everyone, however, I do suspect it will help some people.

The problem: Elite V2 disconnects randomly, then reconnects after a short period of time.

Initially, I could not figure out the cause of my controller disconnecting randomly, which usually causes me to die in whatever game I'm playing at the moment. It only happens with my V2 Elite controller. No other controller has any issue, including a V1 Elite.

After much trial and error, I determined that my cell phone, which I usually have charging next to my Xbox when playing, was causing the issue. Bluetooth is always on when it comes to my cell phone and each time a message, email or other comes in, I get a notification on my smart watch. Every time a notification would happen, my controller would disconnect. Thus, I believe the issue is related to the new bluetooth functionality in the controller.

This site provided me with a jumping off point for my research.

I've confirmed this numerous times. I purposefully tested this as recently as yesterday. For an hour I played Division 2 with my phone in the other room, no disconnections. As soon as I brought my phone into the room, my controller disconnected within five minutes due to an email notification.

Solution: Move your phone, or any other bluetooth device away from your Xbox and controller or disable its bluetooth when playing.

Update - 6:50 PM: Tested it again for two hours tonight. Brought my phone into the room with my Xbox, ensuring the bluetooth was off. I had zero disconnections. I then turned my bluetooth on, sent myself an email and the notification popped on my phone. Almost immediately my controller disconnected. So for me, this is definitely the issue.

Xbox one X internal hdd replacement

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 10:17 AM PST

Wondering if anyone could help here, my xbox one X (purchased Feb 2018) has died on me. Getting error code E102, I've looked around online and it all points to hdd failure. I tried an offline update and factory reset via USB but had no luck.

Microsoft support are just telling me it's out of warranty so £268 for repair/replacement. I took it to a UK based retail store (cex) for them to try to repair it and they had no luck either, they said hdd is too damaged to move required files from old hdd to new hdd.

I just wanted to know in anyone's experience how easy it is to replace an internal hdd/how to get the required files needed. Or if there is anything I can do in terms of warranty as the hdd broke on its own completely, the xbox has been looked after never taken apart or dropped etc. I'm just really disappointed in Microsoft as the xbox one X is not a cheap console and for it to crap out after not even 2 years isn't great in my opinion.

Any help at all would be very much appreciated, thank you
