    Was itching for new hardware so I bought a gaming monitor a few weeks back. 1440p/120hz, but connected to my Xbox One S it seemed very underutilized. I wanted to hold off for the Series X but Infinite at 30fps just just wasn't cutting it.

    Been around since OG Xbox and I think Microsoft is doing a lot of things right. xCloud, scooping up talented studios, crossplay, and I can't say enough good things about GamePass. Damn I love GamePass. But IMO the Series S was a questionable decision. I liked the route Sony went, same top of the line specs starting at $399 if you didn't care about a disc drive.

    But like I said no Series X to be found and I wanted to utilize some of what my gaming monitor was capable of. So I saw the Series S for $289.99 at Costco and said screw it, don't really want the system but at least it's cheap.

    I'd say I'm sort of a casual gamer. Play the hell out of MCC and really digging Infinite. I might have 1 or 2 GamePass titles installed as well. Soon as I setup the Series S I fired up Halo MCC, it was certainly sharper and ran very smoothly. Infinite was an even bigger upgrade. Visually perhaps not a huge leap, but 60fps in performance mode made for a MUCH better experience. Tried FPS boost in Dead Space 3 and that was impressive as well.

    For its size I'd say it's an admirable little performer. Regardless of how much I like it for what it is, I only bought it because a Series X wasn't available. Even more so because a $399 Series X without a disc drive doesn't exist. I'd say it feels just above a mid-gen refresh, but for the price that's not a bad thing. I don't think it's running MCC or Infinite at native 1440p, but I'll hold onto it until Microsoft possibly releases another mid-range upgrade like a Series X Pro or something.

    I buy mostly digital games for my xbox so I get most my games off of the Microsoft Store, Should I go ahead and get the games I want During the Black Friday sale or should I wait until the Christmas Sale? I'm looking into getting games like forza 5, Back 4 Blood, Madden 22, NBA 2k22 ect... If I remember correctly last year the Christmas sale was better it had black Friday prices some even better
