    Just as the title says. With all the complaints of stick drift, why not just give players a controller calibration app? It won't fix quality control from the factory but it will give users a way to correct some issues.

    Just a thought.

    The dynamic resolution compromise is very obvious. I appreciate the increase in frames and the effort, but do my games graphics/resolution have to be so compromised considering the power of the new consoles especially SX?

    1.2v vs 1.5v rechargeable batteries in Xbox Series controller

    Hi!

    I went to buy a pair of Eneloops for my Xbox Series controller but ended up buying Sony CycleEnergy NiMH batteries. I thought every AA battery comes with 1.5v power but CycleEnergy comes with 1.2v that I noticed later. Will it cause any problem to my controller?

    Booting / IP attacks

    Does anyone know a way to prevent DDOS attacks or booting without having to stop playing my game. It is almost a daily occurrence that I make someone mad in a game because I don't have time to play for 14 hours a day to be as good as them, and then they start booting me or my friends. I have a different internet package than most, so sometimes I can't be booted because my IP is 4 states away from where I actually live. But the only ways I've found of actually stopping these attacks before they kick me offline is to contact my internet provider as they happen, turn off my router or Xbox, and spend money I don't have for a vpn to change my IP address. And I know this is a common occurrence for most people that play online because of how easy it is to do, so I'm just wondering if there are any FREE methods that I can use without having to stop playing my game? Like a free vpn or a firewall or something. Thanks

    Is Xbox series X|S worth buying if I am only to be subscribed on Game Pass Ultimate?

    Hey,

    I game almost daily (depends on time) on Nintendo Switch (brought me back on gaming from ps3) and I am curious if it is worth investing in an Xbox series x/s just so I can play games on game pass?

    I do not mind gaming on the "cloud" if xCloud worked as well as Stadia works for me. Is there any news on the development of xCloud? Also, how do the save files work if you have an Xbox and xCloud, do you share the same save file?

    Xbox live code error

    I purchased a card for 6 months of gold and when I enter the code it says forbidden, followed by a bunch of letters. A google search has given me no luck and calling Xbox support isn't an option at the moment. My Xbox one isn't console banned or anything like that. Anyone know anything about this? Any help is appreciated

    Outriders Gamepass Thoughts

    Haven't tried out Outriders Demo but it's good choice for square enix to put it on Gamepass on day one. I wasn't sure if I wanted spend money on buying the game but if it's on gamepass, it's an easy choice!

    My Xbox One Is Stuck Updating At Verification

    Hi, so I have an OG Xbox One, and it says it needs an update (I THINK it says 641 mb) and it seems to be updating fine at first. The problem is whenever it gets through the Verification part of the update it turns off. Now I realize it has to restart, it says as much so I wasn't shocked when it turned off the first time, the issue is that it won't turn back on itself and when I turn it back on it basically says I need to authorize the update again. I can't get past this without clicking the stay offline option and I can't even access my account, like sign in. In one instance when I turned it off completely it wouldn't come on until I unplugged and replugged the...energy brick thing, I have no idea what it's called.

    I heard some stuff about hair driers to cool it off and stuff, but thing is I remember this happening once before at least a year ago and there was some solution I saw on YouTube where some kind of button or combination of buttons could reset the console and fix the whole thing, but now I can't remember what that was and I'm completely stuck.

    So what can I do, and to be clear I have what I've heard called an OG Xbox One, meaning one of the consoles that came out when it first started being sold.

    My xbox series s controller makes a high whine when I plug it into the cord I use to charge it, which is connected to my xbox. This happened about an hour ago when I was playing and I accidentally unplugged my xbox. I plugged it back in and now when I hold down the home button nothing happens. When it was plugged in it makes a high whine. I put new batteries in it, unplugged and replugged the controller/xbox, but nothing happens. help lol.

    Best Television for the Series X?

    Hi all, Ive jumped for PlayStation to Xbox and I'm now looking to buy a TV for my new Series X but I'm not sure what to look for.

    I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? As long as it has 4K, 60HZ and HDR capabilities I'm happy, as well as reasonably sized (over 35" perhaps). Thanks!

    Xbox Wireless Headset Defective

    Got the headset delivered this morning. It feels awesome, sits on the head nice, and is super comfortable. But the volume on my unit does not work!

    Connected wirelessly to my Series X, and immediately my console shut off (headset and controller both stayed on). So I turned the Xbox back on, and got the pop-up to Update Headset. Cool, I updated the headset wirelessly and it was fine. Still no audio..

    Restarted the Xbox and tried again. The headset connects to the Xbox no problem, and I even get the nice audio cues (powered on, connected) through the headset, but zero audio. When looking at the UI for 'Audio & music' in the Xbox nav-menu, the Headset Volume is grayed out and does not change when increasing or decreasing volume on the headset. The Headset chat mixer setting is also grayed out, but the slider will change to match the headset when adjusted. I think the right ear dial is defective or something.

    Paired the headset via Bluetooth to my phone, and no audio through there either.

    Called Xbox support and talked to them about every troubleshooting step I tried. They confirmed that they had no other steps for me to try, and told me my best option was a full return to my retailer (Best Buy in this case).

    So now I will need to return and wait until they come back in-stock, but I honestly worry about the ear cup dial design now. I fully understand I could have just been an unlucky soul here, but still sucks. I was really excited for these, and they were so nice on my head.

    TL;DR - Headset arrived defective with no audio. Did update and all troubleshooting, even called Microsoft. Best option is to return them and wait for restock.

    Odd achievement number

    Need help finding achievements that will help get back to a 5 or 10 on the end of my gamerscore. Right now it ends in 1 and drives me crazy.
