I was really getting into Quantum Break and Gears 5. I had just gotten them for Christmas and then boom. This was the first console I'd ever bought with my own money and this was probably the only thing I had (besides my job) for quite some time (relocating, etc etc.) Honestly, as sad as this may sound, it's really disheartening knowing that all of that time and energy just died so abruptly. Especially when the new console is out, and it being after Christmas where all of the stores are sold out of both generations and having long waits to re-stock ( covid, remote town). My younger brother frequently falls asleep with the Xbox One X left on and as I work nights, I can't turn it off like I normally would when I'm on shift. That is, until whatever update happened that allows me to turn off the Xbox whilst I'm at work. Unfortunately, as a 40 year old woman, the last video game played was Super Mario Bros 3 on NES. And that was when it was released when I was in 5th grade. And my family didn't have NES so I played the rich neighbor's maybe once or twice a month if I was lucky enough to be invited over. Turns out life does move pretty fast and I only have 7 more years with him before adulthood. I would like to have a game or two we can play together and maybe even with his dad, too. Any helpful tips for me to learn how to play? I have tried a few times and the graphics and movements were nearly nauseating. I know experience will ease that but I come from an era where the controller was corded to the console. He currently plays Minecraft; hunter call of the wild; fort nite. But he is an only child and goes to a small school so I'm sure there's many others he would play. In the early 90s I liked super Mario bro 3; Zelda and Tetris. I do like a good jigsaw puzzle. I do not like first-person shooter games or anything with tons of violence. And ideally the game would involve us working together vs. competing with each other. TLDR; I'm a 40 year old mom and want to game with my son. Where/How can I learn to play? What games would you suggest we play to work as a team vs. competing against each other [link] [comments] | ||
