| Posted: 23 Jan 2021 06:28 AM PST I've been playing the new Animal Crossing game for a few months and was playing on my old 360 with my brother when I saw he had been playing Viva Piñata, and it hit me. It would be pretty cool for Rare to make a follow up for the next gen. I think Animal Crossing showed that there's a demand for a slow, cartoonish game with simple terrain customization, not like Minecraft. The OG Viva Piñata game was so fun and relaxing, trying to get the domands for piñata animals. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic but I bet it's be a hit and a great fit for gamepass as well. | Gamepass Ultimate, an amazing deal but not for everyone - A reflection of 3 months with Gamepass Posted: 23 Jan 2021 01:30 PM PST In the heat of the Xbox Live price drama, I wanted to reflect on the my time with Gamepass. I'm coming to end of my third month and I have found that Gamepass is not for me. This is not to say that it is not an amazing service and not worth using. But from the perspective of a 26 year old working a full-time job (a Forester working 50 hours a week), I just don't have the time to reap all of the benefits. A little opener to my current life with Xbox, I currently own an Xbox one S whose so purpose has been to play multiplayer games with my roommate and to play Microsoft exclusive games. I've had the console for a year and half. My main console is a PS4 pro where I play mostly single player games (exclusives and JRPGs). My Xbox Live Gold subscription had ended and I decided it was a good time to try Gamepass ultimate. That way I can try out some games and continue playing multiplayer with my roommate. I was able to complete two games, Star Wars: Fallen Order and Gears of War 5. Both of which had been on sale through the holidays. At the start of my 4th month, I could have paid a similar price to own both games (on sale) permanently. This would have been the better move. I would have loved to play more games, such as playing both Ori games or getting around to the Halo Master Chief Collection. But the time does not exist for it. In the end, I came to realize I'm in a small group where Xbox Live Gold is the better deal. Paying the 65 bucks a year to play multiplayer with my roommate and buying a few games on sale during the year fits in well with my schedule. If I was still in college, Gamepass would be the best thing for I could have asked for. But knowing that by the summer (overly positive thinking) bars will be open to suck up more of schedule while socializing with friends again and I'll be spending weekends out on trails hiking all over the west coast; time will be an even more scarce resource. The news that I was going to have pay $120 a year going forward hit hard and I'm glad that they walked back on this. I enjoy my Xbox One S and hope to continue gaming on it, until the PS5 and Xbox Series X are more easily available. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 23 Jan 2021 11:49 AM PST Had my Series S since Christmas and it's stopped getting signal to the TV. Sometimes Ill swap the HDMI out a different console. But surely that shouldn't of damaged it! I've still got an O.G Xbox one and that thing has never had a problem with the HDMI. I've tried the HDMI in another console works fine. Tried a different TV same problem. I've plugged a headset into the controller and can hear the menu sounds so I know it's turning on. Overall not impressed with what seems to be cheap manufacturing. Also contacting Microsoft for a repair seems more or less impossible since their website isn't great. Had to complete the repair form 4 times as it kept taking me back to the beginning. Since gamepass is on sale right now for $1 if I buy the 3 months now, I can top up with the 2 years that come with the series x I bought right? | Posted: 23 Jan 2021 02:19 PM PST I recently re-downloaded Hitman 2 but none of the Hitman 2 missions are available, and say "Get access". I have all the add-ons in My Games and Apps downloaded (inc. all of the Hitman 1 missions, without H1 installed), however it still says I need access. What's even stranger is when I click the link to the store page to try and download them from there, it says I still have yet to buy Hitman 2 (and appears on the page as if it was a game I don't have), even though I've already bought it, installed it, and booted it up. Does anyone have any advice? (I should note that I've already played through the H2 levels before, so I know it works) [link] [comments] | ||
