    Ps4 guy here who switched to xbox last week and got a series x. Here are my thoughts!

    I have been a playstation guy all of my life. Got the original xbox one and played fable and halo as a kid but that was very rare. Mostly played on my ps2. During the ps3 era I did not get a 360 until the last year of its gaming lifecycle before the xbox one was announced. During the ps4 gen I skipped xbox until a year ago but barely touched the xbox one. Now I finally got a series X over a ps5 and I have to say i am extremely impressed.

    Design- The UI is a bit jarring at first and to be honest I hated it. After getting used to it after a few days I greatly prefer it over the ps4s. From what I have seen of the ps5s UI it does not look as good as the xbox but I have not officially tinkered with it. Everything is easily available to you and customizable through the home button. The store layout is easy to follow and the quick pin feature is great. Being able to manage notifications mid game is refreshing opposed to having to pull up a second screen to respond to messages on psn. My only complaint is that when downloading games it does not give you a time estimate unless you go within your que and wait. Sometimes it would be nice to see the wait time on the screen once I hit install but that is just me being nitpicky. Overall the UI gets a 9/10.

    Functionality/Customization- Boy oh boy does the xbox allow you to customize it in fifty different ways! I was not used to seeing so many different settings such as tv calibration and family sharing settings and more. It truly made my console feel personalized. The customization options such as button mapping and custom backgrounds are also on ps4 and glad to see them on the X as well. I wish there were more dynamic themes available but I am sure more will come with time. Thank god for giving us a 1TB hard drive as well so i can hold tons of games! 9/10

    Performance- Needless to say the X is a fucking beast and can crush any game i throw at it. Playing rainbow six at a stable 133hz on a 144hz monitor makes me get really stiffy down there. Graphical fidelity is beautiful on a 1080 display I cannot even imagine 4k. We need an option to disable quick resume. When trying to quick resume a 360 game it sometimes causes my series x to crash. I just want more games to take full advantage of the power though. The fact that it currently is tied with the ps5 is no bueno. The worlds most powerful console should not match performance with a 400 dollar console. I know developers are at fault here for not utilizing its full potential but I am really hoping that changes soon. 8/10

    Social features- Hands down the xbox takes the cake when it comes to socialization. Even playstation fans have to agree that the xbox clubs beats the psn communities by a LONG shot. It is not even comparable when you look at the functionality and quite frankly fluidity of the club system. Each game has an official club so you dont have to search for the most populated one like you do on the psn. Sharing game clips on club feeds and posting is very easy and makes you feel engaged with other players. The messaging system is flawless and miles better than playstations new update where party chats and messages are combined. But my one gripe that I have with the xbox is the damn parties. Everytime my girlfriend and I try to chat it is very difficult. Either she cant connect or theres echoes or the voice lags or she gets dropped or I have to lower my volume or tinker in the mic setings. I am not sure if it is just us but the party system could use an overhaul. And for the love of god why does xbox not support USB headsets or bluetooth across the board? 8/10

    Gaming- Obviously my primary reason for buying the X. The gamepass is the holy grail, the messiah of gaming, the best invention since pornhub. Man oh man has my hard drive ever been so loaded (pun intended). I have more games then I have time to play. I dont think that ps now even comes close to this and not much needs to be said. 10/10

    I am still going to get a ps5 and a pc but so far I have no regrets getting the series x first. As far as i am concerned it offers better value for your money right now than gamepass and comes with more storage. The ps5 launching with less than 800gb is an absolute joke and no expansion options in sight. I should not be forced to buy another hard drive a year into a new console. I love my playstation and my friends over there but my ps4 pro will do for now. The only game I want a ps5 for is avengers because I dont want to restart on the xbox. I am seriously impressed and feel like I have been missing out. Anyway thanks for reading!
