    A few weeks ago, a few friends and I (college students from UT) noticed scalpers scamming people for the Xbox and PS5 and decided that we had to do something to help solve the problem. We had made a chrome extension called OctoShop that lets everyone set back in stock notifications on their computer (and for people who don't need notifs, automatically compare prices on products across sites so you can always get the best price on everything).

    After posting on reddit (Post 1, Post 2) we now have over 80,000 people who are using the extension and have already helped thousands secure things like the Xbox, PS5, and PC parts without succumbing to the scalpers.

    Now we want to give back to everyone that supported the mission. We got an Xbox Series S from Target using our extension and want to give it away to you guys. To enter, just upvote the post AND drop a comment on this post and I will randomly pick and announce the winner in 24 hours (USA). Based on where you live, I will try my best to ship it to you by Christmas.

    EDIT) Btw if anyone was interested - the extension isn't just for people who want back in stock notifs. We also added something for price comparisons so it will automatically tell you if there's a better price in the background when you are just shopping regularly for anything online.     Microsoft has confirmed to us that Halo Infinite is still coming to the Xbox One. This was after a 343 employee didn't have "Xbox One" listed in their work bio for Infinite (now updated)

    Found this on sale for €30 ($36) at the biggest electronics store in Sweden. Bought one for myself and one for my brother. It works like a charm on my Series X!

    So not played Xbox for ages and thought over Christmas I will sit down and try and finish red dead redemption 2. Wife and kids went to bed and thought this is a perfect time to have a play, got a nice cold can of cider and a packet of crisps and got a little excited at the thought of jumping back on my horse and doing some hunting etc

    So first sabotage by the daughter...controller. I have a box with my games in it, controllers and headset. Went to find the 'main' controller which has a rechargeable battery pack and turtle beach adapter for the headset, not in the box. Proceed to turn the living room upside down, trying to think where a three year old would hide shit, no luck. Fine I will use the shitty controller with the broken right bumper (thanks sunset overdrive), I can live with that. Get the rdr2 disc out and put it in the disc drive.

    Second sabotage...lollipop stick. So as any sane three does when they have finished eating an ice lollipop, they think hummm where can I shove this wooden stick, ooo that slot looks good, points end into disc drive and I can only assume that the Xbox helped and kicked in thinking it was a disc and sucked it up faster than a fucking dyson. My daughter probably then felt very satisfied that she had fed the Xbox and probably gave a happy smirk and patted the Xbox saying 'good boy'. Anyway my imagination runs away with me. Insert the rdr2 disc and hear a load of whirling and crunching noises, I think to myself that doesn't sound healthy eject the disc and out pokes a tip of a lollipop stick, Xbox being Xbox then eats up the lollipop stick again. Next two hours I'm trying to find ways of removing said stick, eventually I get it out with the help of a ruler and some tweezers. Finally chuck the disc back in and it's kinda makes a clicking noise, but sounds better.

    Try to launch the rdr2, please insert disc...fuck. Try re inserting, no luck, do hard reboot, no luck. Anyway I listen to the disc when I insert it, sounds like it's jamming.

    Sabotage number three...there's some other shit in the disc drive. I stick the ruler in and give it a wiggle round, definitely something else in here. This is where I gave up for the night as it's 1 in the morning.

    I can now only assume my disc drive is now KIA and that I will have to resort to buying a digital copy of red dead. The controller continues to be MIA and I hope I can find it. The cherry on all of this is that, it's a release console. It's survived 7 years of gaming just for my daughter to come along and sabotage it.

    Anyway wanted to get that off my chest, thanks to anyone who's read this far. Merry Christmas, I will go cry in a corner.

    Every day on the way to work and on the way home I hit up every store, and sit all day with a inventory checker up on my PC. It may be a few days late, but I'm going to give my girlfriend's son the Christmas I hoped to give him all year.

    Where did Time Played and Stats go?

    I've noticed in the last few months that the "Time Played" stat and indeed, all other game-specific stats in the Game Hub have disappeared completely. What's up with this? Is it a bug, temporary decision by Microsoft, or is it permanent?

    First noticed it with Witcher 3 where my time played stopped updating around 50 hours. How I wish that's all I'd played of that game...

    Now I don't see any stats or time played in ANY game I've played with the singular exception of Forza Horizon 4. Why is this disabled on every non-first party game? This was something I really enjoyed, I loved seeing how long it took me to beat a game and comparing playtimes to my friends. Any plans to bring it back?

    Every 10 minutes my xbox controller battery starts to go red even though I just changed them with brand new ones, I put in duracell batteries and that only lasted about 30 minutes.

    Is Gta V worth buying in 2020?

    As crazy as it may sound I still don't own Gta V. I've never bought it on the 360 nor on the one, but recently I got my Series X. Gta V is currently on sale for $15 for the premium edition. My problem is I always here about how bad online is for new players especially since there's a lot of griefing. Another downside is that Rockstar is reselling the game next year with next gen graphics. Whether it being at a discount price or as a full game is still pretty scummy but it's Rockstar so nothing new there. The only upside for me is that I have Prime gaming which will give me $1 million in game money every month, for how long i'm not sure. Not buying the game right now would make me miss out on millions in store currency if i wait to buy next years release. Any thoughts or comments?
