    Hi All,

    Seek and possess. Mortal Shell is coming to Xbox One on August the 18th! (badass trailer below).

    To celebrate we are running a competition where you can grab a copy of the game and a Displate poster. All you need to do is tell us about why you are excited for the game by commenting on this thread. We will randomly select 5 winners next Wednesday.

    [EDIT] We've gotten a response from the Head of Preview Program at Xbox. I've pasted it below. You'll need the Insider's App on your Xbox to do this but if you suffer from the bug or want to help fix it then reporting this issue en masse is probably a good start.

    So recently, I took Microsoft up on its offer of a month's Xbox Live Ultimate for one dollar. While this came with game pass, I used it purely for the "Live" side, and didn't touch any Game Pass titles. After navigating the deliberately-obtuse subscriptions and billing page of the site to ensure I wasn't going to be automatically billed again next month, I more or less forgot all about the fact that my subscription came with Game Pass.

    Now, however, I'm seeing that Game Pass has left quite a large problem on my console, namely that I can no longer play any backwards compatibility games that were on Game Pass, including Oblivion and Fallout: NV.

    I know what the problem is, and no amount of power cycling, disc ejecting, or hard-reseting can fix it. The console uses the backwards compat discs essentially as verification chips to ensure I've bought the game, before then giving me the digital version of the game, not the game loaded onto the physical disc. After Game Pass has expired however, the console believes I only had access to these games with the subscription, and now, no matter what, refuses to let me play, despite the physical version of these games being in my possession. The Xbox either expressly tells me I need Game Pass to play my game, or tells me that "this game isn't supported here", both out and out lies.

    If anyone knows of something that works to fix this, please let me know, but power cycling, hard resetting and all that does absolutely nothing. I also got into contact with an "Xbox Gamer" (my issue apparently isn't important enough for an actual support worker at Xbox) who, while very friendly and polite, was no help at all.

    I'm mostly writing this not to seek answers, but to let people know that, at the very least, this error has been known since June 24 2018 when u/ErmaGerdsXberx brought up the issue and Microsoft has STILL not properly addressed it. I'm not out here calling foul play, saying they've left this bug in to force people into renewing Game Pass, but I am saying that this really can't stand, and that Microsoft has been incredibly negligent towards fixing this bug. I sincerely hope something is done about this. ErmaGerds' post is linked below.

    I don't have Gold but it allowed me to set up a party/join party and play a multiplayer game. Previously, when I tried joining/setting up party, it said I needed Gold. Now it doesn't. Can anyone who doesn't have Gold try this out and see if it works on your end? Thanks!
