| My dad wants to throw away "broken" xbox 360 phat but i fix it Posted: 23 Aug 2020 07:00 AM PDT So as said in the title my dad has a special edition hdmi version xbox 360 that doesn't output hdmi anymore. (he wants hdmi and doesn't want to use av) (it didn't have rrod) So he decided to throw it away, because a few weeks ago he bought an xbox one (this was like 4-5 years ago but i fixed it a few days ago) but i didn't want him to throw it away because i was determined that i can fix it. (because even 3-4 years before this i fixed the family laptop) So i tried fixing it for years but it didn't work. We tried out the hdmi cable with a different device and other stuff even opening it up and replacing the thermal paste but nothing worked. so i gave up too, but didn't want to throw it away, because i thought that one day i would fix it. But i left it sitting and used the hard drive from the shell for another broken hard drive from a computer to fix it. Fast forward a few years and here i am, MacBook Pro, Samsung curved Monitor and a Nintendo Switch. So my dad was absolutely sick of the old xbox wasting space and he just gave it to me and said to it "if you don't know what to do with it, put it in the cellar." but i knew what to do with it. I was busy for school so i left the xbox in a corner for a few days. Then the weekend came and i had time for the xbox, so i get the powercord and plug everything into monitor and then turn it on. And it worked ABSOLUTELY FINE! I told my dad about it and at first he couldn't believe me at first, but i then showed him the xbox working Absolutely fine and sitting in the metro dashboard. As it turned out, it just was an adjustment problem with our TV, and it was working fine all the time. My dad obviously gave it to me so i took advantage of that and took the games he had for it and stated them mine. So thats how i got the xbox working once again. (still don't know how the TV got wrong settings :S) Please comment what you think of the story an what i didn't say and i should add to this story! It was working fine until one day when I turned it on it said that there was no hard drive connected to it. After messing with it for a little bit, it started to work again. | Anybody know of a cheap 360s hard drive? Posted: 23 Aug 2020 06:11 AM PDT So I bought Combat Evolved about a week ago to learn I need an external hard drive in order to play xbox games. I order a cheap 25g one from gamestop's and it arrived today, only for me to find out that a 360s can't use normal 360 hard drives, because why would they. I can only find hard drives with >100 gigs on Amazon, but at that point I'd get more use out of just buying an original xbox. Any suggestions? TIA [link] [comments] | ||

While playing the screen would suddenly go black and the power brick light used to become orange. The xbox wouldn't respond or turn off either so I would resort to plugging it out since I couldn't find any other alternative.
