    [GPGC]April Voting results, May GotM Poll, and our Xbox One X Contest Winner!

    Hey everyone,

    You all voted and the results are in! Congrats to Ori and the Blind Forest and Outer Wilds on being out April GotM winneres! Here are the results:

    • Ori and the Blind Forest had a whopping 69.4% with 723 votes
    • Outer Wilds came in at 68.1% with 704 votes

    Moving on to next months vote will be Mortal Kombat X and Wargroove. Speaking of next months vote, we are now moving to a three week voting cycle! That means everyone can participate at any time during those three weeks instead of only being able to vote for 1 week. This will help elimnate the concern some members had about not having enough time to vote. This next vote will run until April 21st!

    Ready to Start should be Gameplay. Anything else is just a waste of time. Project Cars 2 says ready to start at 25% of a 50GB download. Oops actually it isn't, it's just the options menu. This stops people trusting ready to start, and 99% of players now just leave the download to finish 100% before starting the game.

    Ready to Start = Gameplay. Nothing else.

    PC2 has made the game a little more adaptable for controller users. It's not great but, you can make it work with a few hours configuring the controls, that suits you best (yes, HOURS) I'm a Forza driver, been playing since day one with Forza Motorsport on my old trusty OG xbox (still play it every now and then) If you are new to sim racing racing, read as many guides that you can. If you are a little more advanced:

    set your dead zones at 0,

    steering sensitivity between 30 -50.

    Throttle sens: 10

    Brake sens: 10

    Clutch sens: 10

    Speed sens: 80-90

    Controller Damping: 70-80

    That's my base line.

    Also, field of view is important especially for cockpit: 35-40 is a good base.

    As far as testing. I use the BMW M1 Procar, It's well balanced and, has a good power to weight ratio.

    Track is Watkins, it's an easy track, well designed and not very technical.

    In the beginning, you are going to spend more time adjusting settings than you will driving, but once you get it setup, it's a great game.

    Best advice I can give, is get a wheel, even if it's trash.

    If not, you're going to spend time in the settings menu.

    This is a game is about the best sim experience that you will get on console, it's not for everyone. If you can't perform well, it's ok, try something less technical, Forza series is a great start which I highly recommend.

    This game can be overwhelming to new players and even seasoned players alike.

    If you have a passion for sim racers, then you will figure it out on you own.

    Casuals may need to look elsewhere.

    Edit: Best advice I can give to controller users are this: No matter what your settings are, you can't whip your steering back and forth and expect to take a turn, you need to be precise and exact with your steering, not wildly from left to right. Very subtle input is needed, that applies to throttle and braking also.

    Just saw this in youtube. Uploaded 2h ago and seems really good and professional. Anyone knows any information about it? Searched in Playground Games, Xbox, Phil Spencer twitter accounts and couldn't found nothing. Could be april fools joke but it look really well made for it.

    (PSA)[Cross-Referenced] How to Disable Cross-Play in any Game on XBOX

    I just wanted to make it known to XBOX players who don't know that you can go into the XBOX settings and disable cross-play for any game. There is a myriad of reasons as to why gamers would want to disable cross-play so I was happy to see we had the option.

    I myself didn't know this was possible until yesterday after, u/Dkroegs2019, posted the information on the CODWarzone Reddit, and I thought this info could be equally beneficial here. Here are his directions:

    1. Go to your xbox settings.
    2. Scroll to account and click on privacy and online safety
    3. Click on xbox live privacy
    4. Click on view details and customize
    5. Click on communications and multiplayer
    6. Change "you can play with people outside of xbox live" to block.

    I'm just trying to spread the word because the more XBOX players that know the better, so we can start to fill up XBOX-only lobbies in various cross-play games. If you want to look at Dkroegs2019's post; check it out here:

    Edit: A lot of people are asking why we'd want to disable crossplay. I did not mention the reasons why because this post was only supposed to highlight the fact you can disable crossplay manually through the XBOX settings because a lot of people don't know. But here are my reasons why I disable crossplay in FPS Games specifically, as thats 90% of what I play.

    • PC has a lot of advantages over console which leads to inconsistent gunfights.
      • Higher frame rates
      • Higher sensitivity than someone can be accurate with on a controller.
      • Higher refresh rates
      • Easier recoil compensation
    • All that just off the top of my head, probably more

    Not to mention cheating, modding, & hacking is fairly prevalent on PC, and is basically nonexistent on console.

    Ninja Theory

    Hey guys,

    I was watching some game trailers on youtube and realized that Ninja Theory teasers/trailers start with a loading like three dots.

    So, my guess is there will be a third project to be uncovered by Ninja Theory, maybe at MS stream that will take place around June.
