    My now ex fiance bought us an Xbox One four years ago for Xmas. As his abuse towards me got worse gaming became an escape. It's been nearly a year since I got my daughter and I out of that situation. After grinding hard and saving, I got my daughter and I our OWN Xbox for xmas this year!!

    We have an Xbox in our bedroom and game room. I alternate between the two seemlessly. Being able to pick up right where I left off is great.

    Went to visit in laws in Canada. Was able to download my profile to their Xbox and was able to load my save with no issues.

    I bring this up now and appreciate it more now because on Black Friday we picked up another PS4, so we'd have one in the bedroom and game room. I love PS4 and Xbox One.

    I was shocked when I loaded up a game and my save data was gone. Turns out you have to pay for Psn membership to have access to cloud saves. Not a big deal, I was planning on getting it anyway. I then find out you have to manually download cloud saves for each game. That took awhile. The final "wtf is this 2012" moment was learning only saves on the primary PS4 will upload automatically. I kind of solved this by playing specific games in each room, but annoys my wife when she wants me in the bedroom next to her, but the game I'm craving is a game room game.

    TL:DR Thank you Microsoft for cloud saves. I hope more devices get cloud saving in the future. I didn't realize how much I used cloud saving until it was gone.

    LG 2017 OLEDs - ULTIMATE Calibrated Settings for Xbox One X / PS4 Pro (SDR/HDR/DV) - V8

    As a direct follow-up to the original post (now Archived), I would like to share my ULTIMATE set of professionally Calibrated Settings for all LG 2017 OLEDs and Xbox One X / PS4 Pro gaming, with the best PQ and lowest Input-Lag results possible (21ms), including Dolby Vision and webOS in-built Apps calibration.

    There are 6 Profiles to independently 1-time-Calibrate for each source/content combination, and then forget about it.

    In order to do it, just change the video source to the one you want to calibrate (for example: webOS Netflix app, or to HDMI1 connected to Xbox One X / PS4 Pro) and then load up the type of video content you want to calibrate (for example: launch an SDR Game, or an HDR Game, or a Dolby Vision movie).

    Once you're ready, apply those Calibration Presets (you can also print them for convenience):

    These are actual meter based calibration settings ( vs. disc based ) using a recently certified ( June 2018 ) Spectracal C6 meter, Murideo 6G pattern generator, and CalMan for Biz 2017.

    These settings are tailor made and compatible with ALL 2017 LG OLEDs variants (e.g. LG B7, C7, E7 etc), but you can also try it for 2018 and even 2016 OLEDs line-up (just limit to general settings as a baseline and try to adjust it from there if necessary).

    NOTE: Don't forget to adjust HDR "Sliders" also in game settings if available. Usually, for these TVs, you need to "increase" the level of Max HDR Brightness "Slider" to make the game logo/icon totally disappear in a white background, or set it to a numerical number around 4.000 nits (Option 1) or 2.000 nits (Option 2). This is the reason why, even with both the console and the TVs properly calibrated, some games may look "dark" or "washed out" if this setting is left to default.

    ULTIMATE EDIT:

    • ALL PROFILES UPDATED TO V8 ULTIMATE
    • 3 OPTIONS FOR X1X / PS4 Pro GAMING (Option 1a and 1b: based on SDR/HDR Game with High or Medium Dynamic Contrast Option 2: based on PC Input/Mode + possible input lag fix)
    • Added PS4 Pro recommended Output Settings
    • Firmware 5.80.15 or above is required
    • Completely new re-calibration of all SDR/HDR/DV picture modes after new tools and 4.000+ hours usage
    • Added new in-game HDR suggested settings

    That's it folks. As per "ULTIMATE" tag, I really finished my ammo on LG 2017 OLED Series this time and I won't make any further tests after these results.

    The only way to add improvement on top of this would be by LG to add real Dynamic Tonemapping also for 7 series (but probably this will never happen).

    Until then, thanks everyone for all the feedback, it was an epic ride.

    • Hellblade: Gamma raised 1 tick right

    • Gears of War 4: Brightness at Default, HDR Luminance 8 ticks from left to right

    • Gears 5: Contrast 50 (Default), Brightness 140 (Default) or 100 (if you play in a pitch black room), HDR Brightness 4.000 NEW

    • Red Dead Redemption 2: HDR Style: Game; Luminance: 4.000; White point: 120 NEW

    • Resident Evil 7: HDR Luminance 2.000 nits (its Max), HDR Brightness 320

    So I stumbled across the cinematic intro for this JRPG:

    Seemed to be an interesting aesthetic and it's scored by Nobuo Uematsu. Mainly because I have the complete game downloaded (for some odd reason) on my harddrive. But I have never played a JRPG, even though I grew up on SNES.

    For reference my favorite RPG is ME1, with over 430hrs across multiple playthrus over the years since release.

    If you're having trouble with Mixer's "FTL/Low Latency" Option while streaming to friends, this might help.

    I use Mixer to stream Jackbox games to friends so we can play party games together. Last night we ran into an issue where my friends were getting around 15 seconds of delay, and for the life of me I could not find the "low latency" option, even though a couple years ago it used to just be an option you checked off.

    Turns out, your friends need to open the mixer app and search for your stream, then watch it through there. There's an option on the video player that they can check for low latency. For whatever reason, this doesn't appear on the stream if your friends open your stream via your Xbox profile/the "x is streaming on mixer" notification.

    Clearing saved games is crashing my xbox

    I had an issue with my xbox, and I ended up having to reinstall an update via a USB drive. After that, I had to reset it again after a brief period. It keeps telling me that I have a problem with my saved games. When I go to clear it -- it crashes my xbox. And I have to reset it again.

    What is it with my saved games that is making this happen!?

    edit: I reset the saved games again, and no crash this time, but its still acting wonky. Some games dont load (have to restart for them too) and also installations keep stopping inexplicably.

    My xbox elite series 2 controller randomly disconnects from the xbox during games. Any way I can fix?

    Also, my level 3 trigger stops dont register presses. Really disappointed in the product. My local Microsoft store doesn't have any in stock to replace either.
