Microsoft Explains How The Red Ring Of Death Happened Posted: 17 Dec 2021 01:26 PM PST
Posted: 17 Dec 2021 10:19 AM PST Hi everyone, My brother has an Xbox 360 and he's asked for some games for Christmas. I know 0 things about good Xbox games as I've only ever owned Nintendo consoles. Here's what I'm looking for: ~ About a $20 price point ~ Doesn't need an internet connection to play the whole game ~ Doesn't need specialized equipment (like I know Guitar Hero needs the funky controller) ~ Has high replay value and/or long play time I know he likes racing games (he put in like a zillion hours on Need for Speed on our computer when we were kids), fantasy RPGs like Elder Scrolls, and whatever GarrysMod is (I know this is a computer thing but he used to spend days on it). Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Dec 2021 11:35 AM PST Hey, I decided to finally go for it and attempt to get RR6 for myself. After some slight issues today, I managed to get to the point that I own the game on my account, but it continuously stops the download at around 80% when attempting to download it on the console. Any tips as to how to fix this? I tried downloading the demo and it downloaded just fine and played completely normally, so I don't know why the full game just refuses to cooperate. Is this some sort of region-locking issue? Have I completely lost the 10$ I used to get this game? I'm from Finland, but the account and the console region is set to US to access the game. Recently received an Xbox 360 second hand for free. Looking for advice on games, etc... Posted: 17 Dec 2021 09:27 AM PST Preface: I have two sons, aged 8 and 11. I've never had a Microsoft gaming system before, and my prior gaming experience consists of owning an NES, Super NES, N64, PS1, PS2, PS3, an NES classic and, most recently, a Nintendo Switch. I still have all those and have let the kids play all of them occasionally. I don't really game anymore because adult life gets in the way. A couple weeks ago, some friends of ours gave us an Xbox 360 slim that they had and didn't play anymore. It came with two controllers, but no game discs. After watching a couple videos on YouTube about disassembling the console I did just that. I gave all the dusty bits inside a good wipe down and hosing with some compressed air. I also had to make a minor repair to one of the controllers (the left shoulder button was kind of stuck and and didn't click) but otherwise everything seems to work fine once I hooked the system up and booted it up. There were three profiles already present on the system, but I created a new one for myself. I hooked it up to our wireless internet, and let it update. There are several games on the system. Assassin's Creed 2, 4-5 military shooters, and some demos. I figure I will probably nuke the demos pretty quick because I'm not really interested in demos. I guess the questions I have and the advice I am seeking are: If I delete the existing profiles, it doesn't remove content like games... correct? What are some kid friendly games/classics for the system that I should try to get for the kids? (we already have Minecraft on the Switch, but they like other games like BotW, Mario Odyssey, etc. that kids tend to like) Where is a good place to find cheap games? I've seen them occasionally at Goodwill, etc. but not recently. I really don't want to put very much money into this, if any at all. Do I need to connect my profile to some kind of Microsoft account for any reason? Can the 360 use apps like the PS3 like YouTube and Netflix? Any other advice or guidance for a new 360 owner? Yes, I know Google exists. However, I figured I might get a better overall picture/answers to all of this if I reached out here. Thanks again! [link] [comments]
