    Why in 2021 there is still an option to start the game during installation just for me to stare at in-game text that installation isn't yet complete and you can't play

    Why does the option to keep my games updated not keep my games updated?

    Title. It's frustrating to wake up hours after an update went live to find that while my Xbox was on, it didn't do anything.

    The hours that we're asleep are the perfect time to update games but no, it waits for me to get on to think about starting.

    Does that option even do anything?

    This came up cause I woke up today excited to play a game that had a bit update and even though my Xbox was there waiting in sleep mode (which is still just fine for downloads) it waits until I get on to start the update.

    Now I find myself waiting another 2 hours because an option that claims it updates things, doesn't do so.

    Sorry I'm ranting it's just annoying.

    For example, the German version wasn't downloadable or playable on Series X/S due to some back compat issues. If you missed it in your country go check if it's back. This is good news for gamepass ultimate users because EA Play is part of it and now the trilogy is complete again.

    Tips on acquiring a Series X

    I've been attempting to purchase a Series X for the last couple of months to no avail. Gone are the days of acquiring consoles in brick and mortar stores, I suppose. Scalpers have also practically sucked the fun out of a new console as well. I've been using Octoshop for alerts, but even the handful of times I've been present for the alarm, the seconds it takes me to access the website(s) is still too long to snag a console.

    Any tips that worked for any of you fellow redditors would be appreciated.

    Is Left 4 Dead 2 still backwards compatible? I've played it on my xbox one before but i took my copy to a friends house, put it in his xbox one, and it said it wasn't backwards compatible. Anyone had a similar experience and is it possible that they took it off of the backwards compatibility list?

    Is the Series S worth it? Or should I wait for more Series X stock?

    Only reason I'm considering getting the S is because the X is never in stock and I heard there's going to be a shortage for a little while. So depending on what the majority of you guys think about the S, I may wait for more Series X stock, or just get the S.

    Edit: Another reason why I'm asking this is because the Series S is always in stock in Canada, but the X manages to still get sold out within seconds.

    I recently got a TV that supports 4K and HDR and hooked up my Xbox One X to it. After some initial issues with the picture in Destiny 2 I'm loving it. However, my Xbox now sounds like it's about to orbit the moon when I'm playing. When I'm watching movies or YouTube or anything else the fan sounds normal but it goes into hyperdrive when I'm playing. I've tried to do some googling about this but I seem to get mixed answers. Some say this is normal and some say there's an issue but no one is in my exact situation either so I'm hoping maybe someone has had the same experience as me and knows whether it's safe to just let it go like this or if I should do something?
