XBOX Series S Optimized games need their own breakdown and more ideas

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 04:26 PM PST

I'm thinking of creating a XBOX Series S wiki or something if no one has anything already. We need a better living document somewhere.

Series X gets all the attention and we almost always know what it gets, but the S just comes along for the ride and what is actually optimized is very random.

This table is garbage and needs more columns (4k, 1440k, HDR, 60fps, 120fps, VRR, etc):

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_Series_X_and_Series_S_games

Microsofts site is also super vague:

    https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/optimized

But their XBOX One X enhanced site has a great breakdown???

    https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-one/xbox-one-x-enhanced-list

This is the best breakdown ive seen, but its old and not updated

    https://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-series-x-games-list

    Not to mention:

-Games that are enhanced with no logo on the store (Fallen Order, Squadrons)

-Xbox One X enhanced games should have a logo since it still applies to Series X, but not Series S (sometimes??)

The Division 2 Series X/S patch is live. 4k and 60fps on series x is amazing. Give it a try.

Soooo...does the Xbox app just suck ass now?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 05:49 PM PST

I used to be able to buy and download and manage my co sole through the app, as well as shop the store for DLC and games. What the fuck happened? Currently I can't do a goddamn thing besides view games in the store. I can't even give them money for games. It's still connected to my console and i can still see the games on my xbox, but can't do shit with them.

What happened? Did they neuter the app so you can't do shit on it anymore? Am i missing something?

Is it just my console or is the picture for Gears 5 when looking at the Games with Gold really low quality?

A warning to those who bought the Gamestop Series X bundles.

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 08:15 PM PST

I wanted to take a moment to warn ya'll that bought any of the Gamestop bundles recently that came with the digital gift cards: I would advise against buying codes from Gamestop for say, Xbox gift cards.

I purchased a $20 code tonight from Gamestop only to be told that it had already been redeemed. I contacted Gamestop who said to contact Microsoft, Microsoft told me that there's nothing they can do, to contact Gamestop, as they've had this happen to several people who contacted them. I called Gamestop and was told I'd get a "one time exception" refund and the guy hung up.

Having no idea what I'd be refunded with (as I used the digital gift card that came with the bundle), I contacted the support chat again. They told me that Gamestop does not do refunds for digital content and that I MIGHT be refunded in 3-5 business days. He also told me that it's Microsoft's fault for providing faulty codes. I asked if I'd get some sort of message saying I did or didn't get refunded, to which he said "check back in 3-5 days" and disconnected the chat.

I contacted Microsoft AGAIN to ask about the "faulty code" statement to be told there's nothing they can do as Microsoft sells the codes to retailers and then they have have full access to whatever they want to do with them. So don't get stuck in my situation of not knowing if I just wasted $20 or not.

TL;DR: Using the digital gift card you got with your Gamestop bundle to buy digital Xbox codes may result in you wasting your card.

    Xbox randomly shutting off

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 08:21 PM PST

Okay so I have an xbox one the was loaned to me from a friend. it works fine until I try to play games like call of duty or need for speed and then it just completely shuts off a few minutes into the game. I can play games like skate 3 all day and it be fine but I turn a newer game on and it crashes. I'm stuck between thinking it's the power supply or maybe the fan/thermal paste?

    EA Sports College Football Returns

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 09:14 AM PST

For those who thought college sports games were dead (including myself), today feels a lot like Christmas. After last making a college football video game in 2013, when Michigan's Denard Robinson graced the cover, EA Sports vice president Daryl Holt announced the return of "EA Sports College Football." https://4ormypeople.com/athletics/2021/2/2/ea-sports-college-football-returns
