What happened to the avatar awards? Posted: 12 Dec 2020 07:11 PM PST Seriously, I thought this was one of the most innovative ideas that Xbox came up with. I know that they are still earnable on backwards compatible games, but I would like to see these integrations on newer games, like when you win a space fight in No man's sky, you get a little ship flying around your avatar. These were fun to earn and I would like to see them make a return. Feedback is appreciated :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Dec 2020 09:37 PM PST Monster Sanctuary is one of them rare games that does everything right. It's a metroidvenia/Pokémon cross over. That sounds like it shouldn't work, but it's executed perfectly. The Pokemon similarities are obvious. You collect monsters, get a party of 6, fight them, and level them up. The leveling system is fantastic, each monster has its own unique skill tree, that allow for all types of play styles. Along with this each monster can have 3 items equipped, to enhance certain stats. For example, you can have a monster called a Magmaslug. It's a early game fire bug. Naturally it deals fire damage, however it can also provide shields for the entire team. So do you level up the fire and make it an attacker, it the shields to defend? You can do both, all the abilities have great synergy. So while the shield path may make the should have more health, the fire path can get a skill that means all fire damage will give a small percent of the damage done as the shield. Each monster has 4 different skill paths to go down, and the game has 101 monsters (303 with the different forms), so the team combinations are endless. Like with Pokémon each monster has a type, and each monster has a weakness; adding more strategy to the game. The game itself is a metroidvenia, so you'll be doing a lot of exploring and back tracking. You may see a ledge that you can't jump to yet, well early on you get a double jump power up so now you can. Power ups aren't the only way to get through puzzles. You can set any monster to follow you, each one has an out of battle power. So one may be able to cut open secret paths, while another can place heavy objects down to keep a button pressed. I honestly can't talk enough about this title. It's absolutely fantastic. It's in Gamepass, and it's not even 1GB big! [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Dec 2020 06:17 PM PST Now that the year is wrapping up what is everyone's game of the year? I really thought I would be saying Cyberpunk which I have enjoyed but honestly I am obsessed with Yakuza Like a Dragon. I downloaded Yakuza 0 on game pass about a month ago and was sucked in. The series is cementing itself along with my other favorites Fallout and Persona. Yakuza seems to really be filling that void of not having Persona on the Xbox (which hopefully Xbox and Sega/Atlus can partner up soon). [link] [comments]
Refunded Cyberpunk and having a blast playing Deus Ex HR for the first time Posted: 12 Dec 2020 10:06 AM PST Scratching my cyberpunk itch with a 2011 game after the painful experience with 2077. Albeit outdated, crystal clear graphics are a relief to see after the fuzzy mess CDPR delivered to base console owners. Stealth just works and enemies are smart. Augmentations have a real impact on play style. Story is not confusing. Everything just works. I know both games are totally different in scope, world building and openess. But its hard to not notice the striking competence of a 9 years old game against Cyberpunk dismal debut. [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Dec 2020 02:27 PM PST It's the Series 2 controller just bad or is mine just broken? My RB stopped working then fixed itself, then my controller just turns itself off a bunch when it's not plugged in, it makes my headset sound crackly and my voice sound crackly, and last when it is plugged it acts like I pulled the cord out and sometimes turns itself back on but my microphone doesn't work like it's unplugged. Is this stuff common? [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Dec 2020 06:30 PM PST Just got an Xbox One. Bought my first game "The Witcher". Great game. Way more advanced than anything I've ever played. Any suggestions for games to check out that will be a little more newbie friendly. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Xbox one X HDR/Dolby vision not working in game or Blu-ray app Posted: 12 Dec 2020 06:27 PM PST Hey guys, just got my hands on a Sony x900h, and it's great so far, but I can't for the life of me get the one x to do HDR with the Blu-ray or game apps. I go into Netflix and Dolby vision works GREAT with that, and my TV recognizes the DV input, but it won't do the same for my 4K Blu-ray's or games. Full setup is Xbox one X, Sony X900h, and Sony DH-790 receiver. [link] [comments] |
