- I struck gold today while going through a suitcase in my laundry room. This game is incredibly fun and holds up surprisingly well!

| Will Xbox One Games Appreciate Next Generation? Posted: 12 Sep 2020 10:17 AM PDT Some thoughts about Xbox I got the One S a few years ago and spent this gaming generation picking up Xbox games for dirt cheap since most people bought PS4s. The highlight was getting 2 copies of Witcher 3 Complete for $3 each during the Toys R Us liquidation. To be honest, I wasn't too impressed by how slow the One S's HDD was or how the system would struggle to maintain a baseline 1080p at 30fps. I recently got a PS4 Pro and felt a lot of regret thinking I bought into the wrong system. But then! With the Series X announcement, between full backwards compatibility, the SSD, all the One X patches, and some 360 games being in 4K, my opinion fully changed and I'm glad I bought into Xbox when I did. I even sold my One S in anticipation for getting the Series X. Granted, PS5 can play PS4 games and also has an SSD, but the One X patches and 360 backwards compatibility being the best way to play on current hardware is enough to get me to still want a Series X. There's enough value in the Xbox ecosystem for me to be excited about playing the old games I have on better hardware. It's interesting to think maybe people will see the same value next gen, making xbox one titles more valuable than the PS4 versions. [link] [comments] | ||

I've been a pretty hardcore Nintendo gamer my whole life and I am interested in dipping my toes into the series s. But I'm a little worried about the different buttons. I've read that BC compatible X1 games that had X1X enhancements won't run with these enhancements on the XSS, but instead will run the X1S versions. But what about original Xbox games? The reason I ask is because there are two games (SSX3 - Xbox) and Lightning Returns (360) that I'll be buying when I get the console, and both of these had X1X enhancements - will they still be upscaled to 4K?
