    We need "push-to-mute" in Xbox Companion app for Windows

    The rise of game streaming/ crossplay has made this a more important issue. When streaming a game (Mixer, Twitch, etc.) from Windows 10 and using party chat from the Xbox Console Companion App, there is no way to mute your mic without tabbing out of your current game.

    It's often necessary/ polite to mute yourself when talking to your stream viewers only, so your party friends won't hear you. They need a hotkey option that lets you mute yourself in the Xbox Party Chat. Discord already has an option for this, and it should be implemented into the Xbox Companion App as well.

    I've submitted a feedback request to Microsoft here, if you agree on this issue, feel free to upvote the feedback and help MS engineers see/ implement it.

    [Question] [Discussion] any one else experience lag in Halo 3 multiplayer on Halo MCC?

    Like the title says I have been experiencing some frame drops on Master Chief Collection specifically in Halo 3 multiplayer. I only see this on Halo 3 specifically I haven't seen any frame rate loss on any of the other titles I have enabled for matchmaking. I am on an Xbox One X if that makes any difference

    My controller has like a .1 mm or .3 ish inch of space anywhere I move the stick where it reacts as if it's in its standby position. It's making fps's really difficult.

    I usually play on a 6 or 7 sensitivity, but I've had to move down to 5 because of the leeway my sticks have. Is there a fix for this? I dont have the funds to buy a new or better controller. It's fine for non competitive games but I really notice it in Halo or Cod. I'm a slightly above average fps player I like to think but now I feel like garbage whenever I play.

    I own the 360 labeled digital download of Black Flag, I own an Xbox One X. If I purchase the Xbox One version of the game for $30, will it look any different than the 360 version on the One X?

    Xbox profile stuck on "offline"

    As above. I can play and join games normally but my profile always says Offline and I can't change it to Online. I'm sure it's a setting but I didn't change anything. Any ideas?

    Xbox won’t connect to internet

    My Xbox one hasnt been connecting to my WiFi, I put in the correct password for it and it comes back with "unable to connect, check the name and try again later"

    It's been like that for around 4 days now with no luck. Any help???

    The surround sound options for headphones on the Xbox One (Sonic & Atmos) work with any regular stereo headphones

    I know this sounds obvious to many people so please don't shoot the messenger here, but I've seen some posts recently from people who appear to think that you need special headphones for surround sound to work. You don't.

    There are 3 options for headset audio on any Xbox One: -

    • Stereo uncompressed (basic stereo)
    • Windows Sonic (MS's own free simulated surround sound option)
    • Dolby Atmos (a paid-for simulated surround sound option from Dolby)

    All of these will work with any stereo headset, but obviously the quality of your headset and whether it's open or closed back will affect how good the experience is.

    My personal favourite is Atmos, even though you have to pay for the app. Sonic gives a pretty decent surround sound experience IMO and it's certainly better than using regular stereo sound, however, I find it can sound a bit "thin" or tinny compared to Atmos.

    The Atmos app has a free trial, and recent updates to it allow various customisations.

    But yeah, if you're using a regular stereo headset, give the surround sound options a try, cos they definitely give you an advantage in many games as you can hear where enemies are coming from etc., plus don't be suckered into buying a "Dolby Atmos headset" thinking that you need a specific headset for it to work - you don't. All that usually means is that it comes with a code for the app.

    Xbox support is garbage

    Xbox by far has the worse support of any company I use. I just don't get how you can't make a simple call to support. My account that is only logged into my Xbox and never use anywhere else has to be reverified and will take up to 24 hours. So I can't request a callback. Twitter useless, website useless, can't make a simple call. Whoever thought this design was a good idea for customer support obviously does not care about what customers needs when it comes to support.

    Which controller is made of higher quality materials?

    So as far as I understand the Xbox controller is more ergonomic than the dualshock but which controller is made of higher quality materials (plastic, rubber etc) and which controller has been quality checked for wear and tear.
