I was complaining to my wife about how slippery my controller would get when my hands got sweaty during final circle on PUBG. So she custom texturized my controller and painted it. I LOVE IT!! What do you guys think?

I've purchased 3 series 2 elite controller from entirely different stores and each of them had the same issue.

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 02:05 PM PST

I checked the batch codes and all came from different lines of controllers, unsure if anyone else can say they experienced this issue but the sticks are quite loose when moving them slightly without applying pressure to the thumbsticks and when looking up or down in any game the axis veers to the left like stick drift. On the second controller it also had a sticky A button. My question is, does quality control exist and why does these issues persist on different batches even when bought from separate vendors.

Usually at such a price point (€180) you would expect better quality.

I think this has made me realise its not worth attempting a fourth.

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 09:13 PM PST

14, an absolute pansy and im trying to get less sensitive to horror games, horror movies i can do easy but jumpscares and walking into darkness without a clue gives me ULTRA bad vibes, i've heard about layers of fear being good and blair witch being horrible but i dont know.

    Controller hell

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 09:50 AM PST

I have a regular XB1. A year or so ago my home button would brighten and the controller wouldn't respond, totally disconnected. I couldn't get it back working again for ages, I'd have to wait for hours for some undefined period where it'd work again. I bought a cable, it doesn't fix the issue, the cable does transmit data and not just power. I'm at my wits end, I have no idea how to fix this. The problem temporarily abated when I switched to a wired Ethernet connection. My sync button doesn't work either, if that's relevant. I've tried different controllers, same issue. Tried different apartments, same issue. I'm guessing the old XB1 is just struggling.

Edit: when I try update the controller it says battery level critical and won't let me advance.. but it's plugged in. The Xbox even has the little cable symbol. What?

HELP: Xbox One X HDR washed out when playing HDR game.

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 10:13 AM PST

I recently got a One X, and whenever I am on the home screen or playing a non HDR game the colors are vibrant and deep. However when I play a game that has HDR capabilities the colors seem washed out and dull, as soon as the HDR kicks in. The visuals honestly look better if I have HDR disabled, which is insane. I've read a lot of threads and posts on potential fixes to this and none of them have worked for me. Does anyone know how I can fix this?? For reference I have a 65 inch Vizio Quantum M-Series.

Edit: adding this reddit post as it has pictures of the exact issue I have and does a little bit more explaining.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/afdq54/for_experts_hdr_washed_out_on_one_x_color_range/

Edit 2: Thanks for the help everyone! The fix I found was that whenever I was playing an HDR game and the HDR kicked in, it stayed with my original SDR calibration. So I have changed the calibration to my liking for HDR content and saved that "picture edit" on my tv. So I now use different two picture modes each with different calibrated settings one for HDR and one for SDR. Doing this really changed the pop and vibrancy of the colors and along with games, I can really tell the difference in HDR movies and blu rays. For anyone else having this problem I would suggest trying this!

    Leave a HD plugged in

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 10:31 AM PST

I tried to google this but couldn't find a great answer. I recently got a new 2TB Seagate HD on sale for super cheap. I've read reviews about these dying out quickly or having problems though. I keep my console in always on for updates so when my box is off I can hear it spinning up every few minutes and making an audible noise.

My question is, is it ok to leave it plugged in all the time or will this mess up the HD in the long run? What's everyones experience with this? I'll eat the time for big updates if it is going to extend the life of the drive.

    Wired connection not working

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 02:13 PM PST

So my wired connection doesn't work, it says service unavailable. BTW my wireless works just fine but there are ping spikes so I prefer playing wired. I tried holding power button down, I tried resetting MAC address also. I have an Xbox one X if that means anything

One S ticking sound when off

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 02:10 PM PST

Hey all. I'm new to the party and just got a One S (mainly for UHD HDR bluerays and Disney +).

I noticed when it's off there's a soft rapid ticking sound. Is this normal? The powersave/fastbooting mode is disabled.

    Thanks.

Help with "installation stopped" messages - they wont stop

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 06:21 PM PST

So as the title says, every time i try and install anything on my Xbox One X, it will download a very small amount, then pop the "install stopped" message, and if we try and start installing it later it does the same thing. It has been a week of it doing this.

Disc games ( Bioshock Collection), several Game Pass games, purchased games on 2 seperate accounts, both older purchases/releases and newer - all stopping installs.

When it does this, even with nothing in queue, it slows my xbox to absolutely horrid speeds. Thumbnails wont load, it runs slower, and dont ever try and use the Microsoft Store... its painful. And when booting, it takes multiple tries to get past the 'restart or troubleshoot' screen.

It has done this now after countless "hold button; unplug for 5 minutes; try again" cycles, and even a factory restart.

I am now left with no real clue what to do able to install nothing on the now empty xbox. Help would be much appreciated.
