Posted: 24 Dec 2019 08:04 PM PST It's been about a two years since i've tried playing the Xbox but wanted to play some stuff today, could not get the console to connect to my wi-fi for anything. I kept getting the error that the password may be wrong, or something wrong with the router. The xbox is a slim, but my internet is definitely a 5ghz and I'm not able to change it to a different frequency since the connection is my father's. So basically, do I need an adapter? Would it try to connect to it and be unsuccessful if the 5ghz adapter was needed or would it not pick up at all? I've tried asking him to set up another band just for the Xbox but that was no use as we can't (apparently) So really, is there anything wrong with it or is it just becoming outdated now and I need more components to get it to work or is there something else wrong? Also, was able to update via ethernet and it worked fine, it's only wireless that won't work. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Dec 2019 03:30 PM PST I just came over from U.S to the Philippines. Keep in mind that the Xbox used to be just fine. I gave my cousins a Xbox 360 S beforehand. I come back and they say that someone plugged the voltage from 110V to 220V(Over-frying the power supply I guess). The thing is the power supply still has a light on. I look at the back of the power supply and it's orange. I look to where it's plugged to and it's plugged to and automatic volt regulator. The plug is put on 110V. I try turning on the Xbox. I hear a beep and the power supply goes red. Looking at some tutorials and guides, I plugged the power supply into an extension cord and it turns on and works for a minute and then stops. I unplug everything and wait for 30 minutes and I was put back to square 1 except the power supply goes blinking red when I try plugging the power supply into the Xbox. There are three options for me to plug into Here's what I did and what happened Plug into the 110V: The light goes orange then when I plug the power supply into the Xbox, it goes blinking red Plug into the 220V: The light is orange, then when I turn on the Xbox the power supply goes solid red. Plug into wall socket The light is orange, when I try to turn on the Xbox, the power supply goes blank and no color show.(Plus sparks show up when I try to plug in. Here's what I tried, Waiting for 1 hour, then replugging. Using different voltages. Here's what I am going to try, USB port pin Solution.(I don't know how to do this one, and can't identify if it's bent or not) Plugging into different socket.(Like I said before sparks show up) Anything would help. If there's something I haven't done or did, please let me know. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Dec 2019 02:49 PM PST So today I bought an used Xbox 360 Elite but for some reason it refuses to connect to my internet, I have searched for solutions but none have worked. For some reason my console refuses to connect to WiFi, even having the router right beside it. While connecting the Ethernet cable works when I disconnect it and try again it still refuses, it's already updated and I don't know what to do anymore and having to connect the console to my parent's room anytime I want to play online is gonna be a hassle It just tell me that there's a problem with my connection and nothing more Can you guys give me any idea to make it connect? Posted: 24 Dec 2019 10:13 AM PST I can't change the aspect ratio on my console because the option to do so is greyed out, I'm playing on a 1920x1200 16:10 monitor, the console is stuck on 16:9 Edit: console is connected with HDMI [link] [comments]
Troubleshooting wireless controller to PC connection Posted: 24 Dec 2019 09:18 AM PST Hi, I'm hoping maybe someone here can help me. If there's a better place to ask, just let me know. I bought a used Xbox 360 controller to use with my PC and can't get it to go into "pairing mode" no matter what I've tried. According to the docs, I turn it on, hold the "connect" button for a few seconds, and the light ring will go into twirly mode. Then it will show up in my Bluetooth settings and I can add the device. However, pressing the "connect" button seems to have no effect whatsoever (the controller is turned on just FYI). I've tried a bunch of stuff:
According to everything I've read online, I should be able to pair this to my computer or phone (I've tried with a Windows 10 PC and also my iOS 13 iPhone) as a Bluetooth device but that just ain't happening. Does anyone here have any advice for what else I can try? Or did I just happen to get a broken controller? There's no physical damage and all the buttons seem to be pressing correctly. Thanks for your help, I really want to play a game with this controller! ' [link] [comments]
Can I use Xbox live 48 hour trial codes to get discounts on games? Posted: 24 Dec 2019 08:44 AM PST Hi all, I wanted to ask if I can do that or not? I don't play multiplayer games so I don't want to buy 1 month gold. The discounts I want are for countdown deals [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Dec 2019 10:24 PM PST Just curious. Been reliving my teenage years and playing Guitar Hero II, III: Legends of Rock, World Tour, Warriors of Rock, and Metallica with my fianceé on our Xbox 360 (yeah, we're behind a generation, wanna fight about it?). Anyhow, the songs have been getting stale as we have been playing them to death. I've been looking into purchasing more games but the songlists don't really compare to what we already have. However, the DLC songs lists seem amazing but obviously it seems the distribution of them has ceased long ago. I am curious if there are any games at all between the Guitar Hero or Rock Band series that still have available songs for DLC at this point in time? Any insight qpuld be greatly appreciated.
