Fine Microsoft, I'm going to buy my first Xbox Posted: 29 Dec 2021 05:45 AM PST I'm 24 and I never got to own a single home console. The first console I ever played was my father's PlayStation 2, an absolutely amazing machine with almost an infinite amount of games; but I lived with my mom and there was virtually no space in our home to put a console, common bedroom, no living room... So the first console I owned was a Gameboy Advance SP, and that's when I realized I really liked Nintendo's simpler but entertaining games. Pokémon, LoZ, Mario, Megaman, they showed me that simple graphics don't automatically make a game bad, and an handheld can be as entertaining as an home console. We moved to a bigger home, but at that time I was so in love with Nintendo that I never thought of playing with anything else. Growing up I continued to buy Nintendo handhelds and games, I even started collecting them; my dad even bought me a Wii (which...I never actually played), and my journey ended with the Switch. But something started to feel...off. Most next-gen games are getting ported to Switch but look/run bad, absolutely bad. Moreover, it's almost impossible to find Switch games at a good price and...I just don't feel hyped about any of the games coming out soon or that came out last year. The games feel more and more childish, the console has less features than the 3DS and...still feels not mature. That's it, Nintendo is no more a company for me. So I sold my Switch, and currently just play with my old Gameboys and my newly acquired PSP. Now, a couple weeks ago I decided to look into the next-gen consoles. I never, never liked Sony consoles after the PS2, but hey, I'm a huge Marvel fan and they have Spider-Man and Wolverine's games, looks like there is a great community and I'll never have the same problem I had with the Switch of wondering IF a game will ever get released for it. Fine, I think I'll get a PS5. I started talking with my friends about it and I found out every single one of them has an Xbox. We almost never talked about videogames so I never actually cared, but I wasn't expecting to be surrounded by Xbox guys. So I decided to look at the Series S and, whoa, 299.99€? Sounds like a deal. Then even my little brother got a Series S and showed me it this Christmas, I was literally blown away. Ironically, I repaired a lot of consoles in the past years, especially a couple 360, but never got to play one nor look at it's story. So, a bit worried, I decided to take a look online to see if newer Xbox console suffered of similar issues, and once on YouTube I found this video: The Red Ring of Death. It took me a good minute to notice it was an official Xbox video, so I got curious and watched it. It was good! In the past two days I decided to watch the entire series and...you know what guys? I actually liked it. I never got interested in it but looks like I missed a big chunk of story in the videogames sector, so much I didn't even know Xbox was a pioneer of the online gaming, voice chats, subscriptions and even media streaming. I liked the pacing and the story behind it, and I actually felt the hype for games like Halo and other Xbox exclusives. I was already almost convinced, but this series basically sold the console for me. Good job Microsoft, you earned a new customer. I'm planning to buy it (the Series S) mid-January, the first game I'll get will probably be the Master Chief collection and I'll most likely subscribe to Xbox Game Pass. [link] [comments]

How long can I leave Xbox mini fridge on for? Posted: 29 Dec 2021 05:27 PM PST Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this, but I just picked up one of the Xbox mini fridges today. Walked into target and just saw it there luckily. I was excited for it until I got home and noticed in the manual it says multiple times that you aren't supposed to leave it turned on for extended periods of time. I feel like always having to turn it on and off, especially since it seems like it takes multiple hours to make things cold, kinda defeats the purpose of it being a mini fridge. I kinda imagined myself having this fridge beside my tv stocked with soda or water or something so that I can just grab one at my leisure, but it kinda seems like that's not really realistic with how they recommend it to be used. Does anyone just leave it on 24/7 and are there any problems? Thanks [link] [comments]

14 days Game Pass Ultimate (+ algebra) Posted: 29 Dec 2021 12:49 PM PST Sharing a game pass code but I have thrown in some algebra to figure it out. The letters A-G in brackets are single digits. FD(A)(B)F-HQF(C)Y-(D)(E)DJV-(F)MX(G)R-GPWCZ And here are the equations: F+G=B+C A*E=D B*E=C (F+G)/A=B (D+C)/E=A+B D-C=G-F+B A*C=G+F+D Enjoy! EDIT: This still seems to be unsolved! Keep cracking. If you are unsure how to work at it, the google-jitsu you are looking for is "solving equations with multiple parameters". Also the comment discussion with justinsims008 might give some help. Cannot redeem my Christmas Game Pass code that I got from Xbox Posted: 29 Dec 2021 11:21 PM PST I have checked everything from account and Xbox region, typed it over and over again, different devices like my phone, laptop, Mac and Xbox both ways, and nothing. It tells me to check the instructions, I have, I have done everything right and it won't give it to me! All it says is the token is not supported [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Dec 2021 11:20 PM PST I actually do not know how audio gets treated. If I were to purchase a receiver able to decode audio, and I watch a movie on my xbox series X, either through Plex, Netflix or VLC (streaming a mkv for instance), what happens to the audio? I see there is a passthrough option, would it be handled completely by the receiver? [link] [comments]

How do I buy months in advance on XBL Gold? Posted: 29 Dec 2021 10:48 PM PST I was told I should go for the game pass ultimate by doing the following: Buy the maximum amount of time i can prepaid for Xbox live gold. Upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for 1 dollar as a first time user. and this would give me game pass for 3 years as well as XBL gold. Think is, I can only see how to subscribe to gold (I recently resubbed for 12 months automatically in october). How do i prepurchase further months? I can't seem to find anything but the subscription for gold. [link] [comments] |
