Hi all! Proud owner of my first Xbox 360. Posted: 21 Sep 2021 08:19 AM PDT So, I'm a PlayStation fan boy through and through, have owned them all since the first was released way back when. But, I have just bought my first (2) Xbox 360. One was found in a loft, and the other was supposed to not work. Bought for £5 each. They both seem to work just fine after a quick game on each. Obviously need a good clean too. Any tips, tricks or good info I should know? I will be searching this subreddit later for more detailed cleaning advice too.. [link] [comments]

Strange XBOX 360 overheating message without heat output Posted: 21 Sep 2021 06:04 PM PDT So I got an XBOX 360 Star Wars edition that my friend told me he hasn't used in years because it overheated. I took it apart, cleaned the PCB Fully, full on 99% isopropyl alcohol dip and dry. Cleaned all components inside and out. When it turns on, the fan runs at full speed and a message comes on about protecting the Xbox until it cools down, then shuts off approximately a minute later. The middle light that is normally blue, flashes red repeatedly, but the fan, which has been running full speed the whole time, never outputs any heat, yet is somehow overheating. I've looked all over the net and have never one across this exact issue. If it is overheating, why isn't it generating any heat? [link] [comments]
