Been a hot minute since I've been on Xbox. Posted: 02 Jun 2021 12:36 PM PDT Was PS last gen but missed my Halo and Forza so I'm back in action here. Got a One X for $100 off of offerup and I'm really enjoying Game Pass. I play mostly halo and Forza and I'm reliving the classic Oblivion on backwards compat. I almost have no friends so if you want to you can add me at InfiniteRare and we can party up! [link] [comments]
Tired of defending owning an Xbox... Posted: 01 Jun 2021 05:49 PM PDT Everytime I mention to someone I have a series x, all I hear is some variation or another of ps5 is better in return. It feels like you can't mention Xbox without getting flack for it. [link] [comments]

A comprehensive guide on how to get Game Pass Ultimate for the same price as Xbox Live Gold (repost) Posted: 02 Jun 2021 08:11 AM PDT This is a mod-approved repost of my original thread as that's now been archived by Reddit so nobody can reply to it. This is being reposted so people can reply and ask questions if necessary. ORIGINAL POST: - A lot of people are still confused on how this works so I thought I'd make this thread to fully explain the process. All info is correct as of the time of posting, but it's obviously subject to change at any point. What is Game Pass Ultimate? It's a subscription service that gives you the following subscriptions rolled up into one: -
You also get various perks included, such as DLC for certain games and trial subscriptions for services like Spotify Premium. How do I get Ultimate for the same price as Gold? When you sign up for Ultimate, any Gold, regular Game Pass, and EA Play time you have remaining on your account is converted over to Ultimate. In the case of Gold, that conversion is currently 1:1. For example, if you have 12 months of Gold left on your account and you pay for 1 month of Ultimate, your Gold would convert to 12 months of Ultimate, giving you 13 months of it in total. So, what you can do is stack up up to 3 years of Gold, then pay for 1 month of Ultimate to convert it all over. To do that, you must follow the steps below: -
When you do the above, all of the Gold you stacked up in step 2 is converted to Ultimate on a 1:1 basis. You can get 12 and 24 month Gold codes online from retailers like Amazon, Target, Walmart etc. What if I have regular Game Pass or EA Play and I have time remaining on those subscriptions? Any regular Game Pass time you have remaining would also be converted over on a 1:1 basis, while any EA Play time would be converted over at 3:1. This is because EA Play only costs £20/$30 for a 12 month subscription, so if MS allowed a 1:1 conversion for that as well, you could get 3 years of Ultimate for £60/$90! I'm offered bonus months for turning on recurring billing when I redeem my Gold codes. Should I take them? It depends. The maximum amount of Gold you can stack up is 3 years. If you try and redeem a Gold code and it would take you over 3 years, it will block you from doing it. Here's a couple of different scenarios: - Scenario 1. You have zero Gold. You buy 3 x 12 month Gold codes as you want to go for the full 3 years of Ultimate. In this instance, you should NOT take any bonus months offered to you for turning recurring billing on, as it would prevent you from redeeming your third Gold code as it would take you over the 3 year limit. Scenario 2. You have zero Gold. You buy 2 x 12 month Gold codes. In this instance, you would accept the bonus months offered to you, turning recurring billing off again after accepting each one, as that would give you 2 bonus months, giving you 27 months of Ultimate in total. 24 for the converted Gold, 2 for the bonus months, and 1 for the month of Ultimate you're paying for. The conversion to Ultimate will take me over 36 months. Can I still do it? Yes, because it's the one time where MS do not block you because of the 36 month limit, however, any months that go over 36 would be discarded. For example, you stack up 36 months of Gold and pay for 1 month of Ultimate. That would technically give you 37 months of Ultimate, but as any months over 36 are discarded, you would end up with 36 months of Ultimate, not 37. Can I pay for Ultimate with account credit? What if I don't have any other payment methods attached to my account? You can pay for Ultimate with account credit, but if you're not signing up for it via a code, you have to have either a credit card, debit card, or PayPal account set up as a payment method on your account. This is because you're signing up for a subscription that has recurring payments (even though you can turn those off straight away). I've had Ultimate before. Can I still take advantage of this? Yes. The 1:1 conversion happens every time you go from not having Ultimate to signing up for it. The only thing that's different is that the first time you sign up for Ultimate, you get the first month for $1/£1 as an introductory offer. On subsequent times, you would have to pay full price for the month of Ultimate, but the 1:1 Gold to Ultimate conversion still happens. When I go to sign up for Ultimate for the first time it says I'll be charged $1/£1 for the first month, then $14.99/£10.99 after that. Am I going to start being charged after the first month? That message confuses a lot of people, because it's not taking into account any Ultimate time you're getting from existing subscriptions such as Gold that are being converted, so the answer is no. If you're stacking up Gold to convert it to Ultimate, you will not start to be charged until any pre-paid Ultimate time on your account is up. For example, you redeem a 12 month Gold code and sign up to Ultimate, giving you 13 months of Ultimate. You would not be charged anything for the next 13 months, then when that time is up, if you haven't turned off recurring billing, you'd start to be charged full price for Ultimate from then on. If you have turned off recurring billing, your subscription will just end. What happens if I try and redeem a Gold code when I already have Ultimate? If you already have Ultimate and you try and redeem a Gold code, it will convert to Ultimate, but at a lower rate. For example, if you try and redeem a 12 month Gold code it will convert over to 4 months of Ultimate. You will be warned about that and have an option to cancel. How do I turn off recurring billing? What happens to my subscription when I turn it off? You can turn it off on MS's website here: - https://account.microsoft.com/services/ To the right of where it says when your next charge will be, click "Change", choose the option to turn off recurring billing, then confirm your choice. When you turn off recurring billing, your subscription does not end there and then. It just prevents you from being billed again once any pre-paid time on your account is up. For example, if you have 8 months of Ultimate left and you turn off recurring billing, you'd still have 8 months of Ultimate left, but once that time is up, the subscription would just end. Do NOT use the cancel option, as cancelling your subscription will end it there and then and it's not the same thing as turning off recurring billing! This all seems too good to be true! When will this offer end? It's one of those rare cases where it seems too good to be true, but it actually is true. MS have offered this conversion rate since Game Pass Ultimate became a thing. As for when it will end, who knows? MS could change how this works at any time, so IMO, take advantage of it while you can. If you have any questions about this process, just post a reply and I'll answer if I can. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jun 2021 01:42 PM PDT Hey people, I currently sit on 74'430G after a little over 3 years of making my Xbox account. I aim to AAA and relevant games to actually enjoy getting the achievements and seeing them pile up. I'm wondering if my gamer-score is considered good or if I'm just on the starting line on competing with fellow gamers. [link] [comments]

Microsoft rewards and gold question. Posted: 02 Jun 2021 11:56 AM PDT I currently have 3 month trial of ultimate. If I just do bing searches each day, I should have enough to get a 1 month of gold? By doing that I would extend the ultimate by 1 month? [link] [comments]
