Buying an Xbox 360 OG and getting into it Posted: 26 Apr 2021 10:30 PM PDT A 360 has always been one of my dream consoles ever since I was a kid, next to the Phat PS3. So besides the RRoD, are there any other things I need to look out for? Plus I'd wanna use HDMI on the OG console. Any help/suggestions for getting into the 360? I've had SOOO much experience from the PS3 Phats, from CFW to fixing the cooling. And I've had a good amount on the OG Xbox. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Apr 2021 03:25 PM PDT Hello everyone, I have a question. I recently bought a Xbox 360 slim version and want to put this console vertical, I've read some articles about the issue it's bad for the Xbox because when the Xbox is moved, the disc's can easily get scratched. I've bought a "armored case" for the Xbox 360 (mass effect version in case someone was curious) with a stand. Will this be safe for the Xbox in the long run if we're talking about internal issues? I have a safe open space for the console to breathe and dust out the console every week/2 weeks. It's also impossible to wobble the console due to it sitting on a spot unreachable for myself or my cats. [link] [comments]

Xbox 360 slim running insanely slow after drop? Posted: 26 Apr 2021 08:01 AM PDT So, my xbox 360 was downstairs, and while trying to pick it up, i dropped it from about waist height onto my carpet. When i plugged it back in to see if it was ok, it ran fine and played games and stuff, but it is insanely slow. It takes maybe 10 minutes to load the user pick menu and another 20 minutes to load the dashboard after picking a user. If you struggle theough that though, it works just fine, plays games fine and network works fine. Does anyone know why its running so slow? I dont want to factory reset but will if have to. Official Xbox 360 Hard Drives & Backwards Compatibility Posted: 26 Apr 2021 04:31 AM PDT I've been having an issue where I noticed that my Xbox 360 won't play backwards compatible Xbox games at all. I did buy the console online and it works fine. The only thing that seemed a little out of place was the hard drive didn't look to be an official one ( I have a 360 Slim for reference) as it didn't have the Xbox logo on. Would an official hard drive be able to solve this issue? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Apr 2021 01:12 PM PDT hey! i just bought a code for red dead redemption on kinguin, and I activated it on the microsoft website. now I have no idea how to install it on my 360 or if this is even possible? should I have redeemed it on the console? :( [link] [comments]
Xbox 360 controller - won't work with regular AAs Posted: 26 Apr 2021 11:56 AM PDT I have the Gears of War styled xbox 360 controller. It has good sticks and buttons. The bummer of it is it won't power on with AA batteries or a battery pack. It will come on if connected through the official USB play/charge cable. So that is a viable workaround. Does anyone know of a jumper or other such component on the controller board that liable to go bad preventing batteries from working? [link] [comments]
I ran into an interesting situation with a donor faulty Xbox 360 that I'd like to ask about. Posted: 26 Apr 2021 11:23 AM PDT I have basically no experience in fixing consoles, my experience goes as far as seeing multiple videos of people fixing them on YouTube. That said, I've built and fixed PC's before and would like to learn. A co-worker's sister gave him her old Xbox 360 S that was just sitting around. He wasn't told anything more than that it doesn't work, wasn't given any cords or anything. He's not into electronics, though, but he knows I am and offered it to me. Upon receiving it, I expected to see the red light of death and feared that as I know that's often issues that would be far beyond the capabilities of a newbie to handle. To my surprise, it booted up just fine, connected to the internet and didn't run loud or anything. The only thing is the disc drive. It opens, closes, reads the disc, and recognizes the content on it entirely fine. However, as soon as it tries to load a movie or a game from a disc, it crashes, signs out of the account, and gives an error saying "the disc is unreadable". These games work on my own Xbox 360 just fine and compatible titles work just fine on my Series X without hassle as well. I'm already ruling out a dead drive as a possibility since it works all the way to that point, which is a relief as IIRC these disc drives are married to the console and can't be easily swapped out. I'm thinking it's maybe a dirty laser? But the fact it recognizes not only if it's a movie or a game but even what game the disc is for hints that it might not be that. Would my latest guess be on point or is there another potential thing to look for? [link] [comments] |
