    Remnant: From the Ashes is a blast and on GamePass

    If you have Game Pass, do yourself a favor and try out Remnant: From the Ashes. It's a beautifully crafted game that combines aspects from a lot of popular games. I played it last night and got through to the first boss. I was really impressed and want to spread the word.

    The gameplay is Souls-like, with challenging combat and a diverse array of enemies that fight you in different ways. There are classes, items, leveling, crafting, and more. Checkpoints are spread across the game, just like bonfires in Souls games, and using checkpoints refills your dragon heart healing consumable.

    Remnant changes things up by adding guns. In addition to your melee weapon, third person gunplay is an integral part of combat. The guns are different enough to offer you variety in how you play. Switching between melee/guns is pretty seamless and you'll be doing a lot in the middle of combat. I fought an enemy who blocked all your shots, forcing you to let it attack so you could counter with melee or gunfire. Another enemy was a big hulking brute with a large weapon, and I resorted to using my guns and keeping my distance. You can have a rifle/shotgun as well as a handgun equipped. Resting at checkpoints refills your ammo. And depending on your class and what mods you equipped, you can use a "super ability" that does damage to enemies or other things like heals your allies.

    Oh, that's right, there's co-op. You can make your game public and people can pop in and play with you. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I was joined by another play during my first session yesterday. It was fun and still challenging.

    Lastly, the world itself is very interesting. From the little I've seen, you are in a post apocalyptic urban setting, similar to Fallout. Instead of nuclear war, Remnant's world was ravaged by a mysterious threat called "the root," and your job is to fight them. You can talk with NPCs in town, manage your gear, craft items, and then venture out to the world for challenging encounters and boss fights with epic music.

    I can't wait to play again tonight. I love that Game Pass gives me these opportunities to try games that I otherwise would have passed up. I hope this game gets more attention and that people try it out.

    [ HELP NEEDED ] My Xbox is having trouble working with motel WiFi. WiFi works from my phone & when I Test Network Connection, it says connected to the internet. On the right hand side in the Network setting it says “IPv4 UPnP not successful”. I’ve hard reset & I cleared my MAC address.

    Xbox app on iPhone 8 (latest version) not letting me share or watch specific clips

    I made a clip in COD:MW, trimmer it on my Xbox One, and uploaded it to Xbox Live. Now I'm trying to share it on Reddit, but it won't let me. It keeps coming up with a message saying "Something went wrong; Sorry, we can't share this right now. Try again in a while." I tried watching the clip, and a similar message appeared: "Not available; Try again later. We can't play that one right now." This problem is only happening to this specific clip, and I can view/share all my other clips just fine. I never deleted it off of Xbox Live or my Xbox DVR, and I don't know why this is the only clip I can't share. I want to know if there's any way to fix this, or if anyone else has had the same problem lately.

    I rearranged my room today and ended up plugging my Xbox back in and for some reason my power adapter is making a loud noise and the light is green instead of the normal white. Anyone got an answer to what's going on?

    Both games are still very alive an active on PC, just checking in to see who's playing on Xbox still? I always get into a get on Xbox no problem and the community feels active, but on PC it seems to be booming.

    I'm not a fan of this recent trend where games' thumbnails change for new "seasons" etc

    See title.

    I wish the box art style thumbnails would just stay. They're so much nicer and clearer. I don't like the way they seem to dynamically change now to function essentially as an advertisement for what's going on in the game. I'd be more open to the thumbnail titles (the strip across the bottom) reading for example "Gears 5 - Operation 3 Happening Now" or something. Or with a "learn more" button prompt on each game that wants to let you know what's new, since the former obviously might be too long.

    It's the smallest nitpick but it does bug me. Anyone else?
