    Disassembled my newly-acquired Elite to try to diagnose a grinding noise from the disc drive. I'm not an expert on optical drives, but I did notice this. Is it maybe the culprit?

    I've had this Xbox since I was 8 (I'm 15 now) as for as long as I can remember my console refused to connect to Xbox Live, couldn't install updates, and wouldn't save any settings changes after I restarted it.

    Now after a long and headache process I think I finally figured it out. After looking into how to wipe my console completely to see if that could fix it, I notice one of my storage units said unformatted. Formatting it does nothing so I looked it up to see why. Apparently my Memory unit is broken, and the console shows it as "Unformatted" to show it has an error. Now I have a hard drive installed that I got from Game Stop so I could save my achievements and game progress.

    After looking into seeing if I could set my hard drive to also be memory, I saw that a flash drive with at least 1gb of memory could help my issue. But now I have a new problem: Using a computer to "format" it. Sadly I don't have a windows computer. I only have a Chrombook that I used for online school.

    I've talked about this to my Dad and I'm going to get a usb Friday. But I'm wondering if it is REQUIRED I get the usb formmated by a computer or can the console do it itself? Or I'm I looking in the wrong direction entirely? I would send it in but Microsoft obviously doesn't service Xbox 360 anymore.

    Question regarding scratched disc + installing

    Hello all!

    I recently bought a copy of Quantum of Solace for $3 and it's pretty scratched up. I've managed to successfully install the game onto my hard drive and I was wondering if installing the game will work without any issues, wouldn't it just be a license check with the disc?

    Cause I know on Xbox One/Series X it'll download a digital copy of the game and the disc is used for license verification.

    Never really found a definitive answer if that's the case with 360 titles

    OK so I got this controller from amazon since i wanted a 360 controller for my pc. It worked great when ever i plugged it in now every time I try to plug it in I get an error that says Device not migrated or sometimes it just wont read it. I even tried it out on my moms pc any suggestions?

    Unknown Profile on old Minecraft worlds.

    I have had a problem with some old Minecraft worlds that i have in my hard drive. I have only recently returned on my Xbox 360 after 5 years and the first thing I wanted to do was to see how my old worlds looked like.

    I have tried a bunch of ways to fix the unknown profile problem and looked up every solution i have been able to find, yet i can't find anything else than fixing the problem with Horizon.
    Horizon seemed great, so i wanted to make sure it was all safe from viruses and such, then to find out that the original site seems to be shut down.

    I will of course be constantly looking up other fixes for this problem, but maybe there is somebody here on this subreddit that could help me?If you can, contact me, I don't take "sorry there is no way of fixing this" for an answer.
