    Xbox Series S

    I've had the series S for a little over a week now. The last console I had was the Xbox 360. I'm in love with this thing. I have a 1440p 144hz monitor and games look amazing. It loads so fast its insane. It looks great in my home office setup too.

    So to anyone who is hesitant about whether to get the S. Do it. If you're not a hard-core gamer and don't have a 4k 120hz TV or monitor then do it. Its amazing.

    How to get the Xbox Series X

    Xbox series X were sold out everywhere. Powershell to the rescue. Wrote up a powershell script to alert me the instant it showed "In Stock" online. After finally getting alerted and purchasing online, within one minute they were already sold out. Just picked it up today. Gotta be smarter than the competition.

    I'm aware there are tons of better ways to do this and better functionality can be added, but I didn't want to spend forever doing that so this is just what I did to get the Xbox Series X. If you like the video just give it a thumbs up.

    Screen time not blocking at end of limit on new console?

    We've had screen time running fine on the Xbox One for years with no issue.

    We added a new Xbox Series X to the mix for Xmas and seem to be having some trouble with screen time in that it's not blocking usage once the screen time limit is exceeded.

    We have:

    • All the accounts (and family members) setup and running fine on the Series X and all the settings look the same as the old console.
    • I can also see screen time activity in the new Xbox Family app for the various users (the time exceeds the allotted time).
    • I can see the Series X added to my device list on accounts.microsoft.com

    Any ideas?

    Question about owning a game physically and buying it digitally

    Okay so to bring in some context I bought cod MW physically when it released and all my data was saved on an external hard drive. Then I got a series x. I havent been playing cod on it so I dont have the disk with me. I recently moved and almost all my stuff is in storage including the physical copy of the game.

    Now my question is if I were to but the game digitally and transfer the save data from the external HD from my XOX to my XSX would all my save data work with the now digitally downloaded game?

    The game “Amnesia: Memories” is considered “Amnesia: The Dark Descent”

    So on my laptop the otome, japanese game, Amnesia, is mixed up with amnesia the dark descent when i check my xbox account and on discord it's presented as amnesia the dark descent. How do i fix this? Do i email xbox asking them to add that title to their thing cause i can see why it would get mixed up? Thanks :)

    Game Pass Ultimate Reccommendations

    Hi All. I recently re-entered the gaming community from nearly a decade away (grad schools, kids, tenure process). To give you an idea of the kinds of games I like, the last game I played before my long hiatus was Fall Out New Vegas. I also put around 200 hours into Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Good games to go out on for sure. I'm also a huge JRPG and RPG fan in general. My favorite games of all time are probably the shining force, mass effect and KOTR series. Yesterday, I purchased a Xbox Series S with Ultimate Game Pass. I've been aware of the major games over the decade (e.g. Skyrim, Witcher 3) but I honestly don't know where to begin. So my question is, if you could relive your "first time" going through games available on Game Pass, where would you start?

    Gold still not free/price increase?

    I just ran out of gold today and took to the Internet to find NO 12 month sub, an increase to$100 a year cheapest and no one talking about this since July?

    Basically, I'm wondering if anyone else is pissed that it looks like Microsoft is going to force people into GPU from gold by increasing the money cost to nearly the price of gpu?

    I only play cod yearly and that's the only reason I get online, I'm so pissed because I'm not spending an extra 40 a year on something that hasn't provided me ANY extra service since I started playing Xbox December 2010.

    TLDR: Xbox gold price increased to 100 dollars for one year, why is no one talking about it?

    Do headphones with mics on them work as Xbox headsets?

    I have the Sony WH-1000XM4s, which have microphones on them. It also came with a 3-ringed 3.5mm cable, which I assume means that the cord can transfer microphone data since that's how it worked on my phone. I know the Xbox controller supports that format of 3.5mm, since the low-quality headset I bought for my Xbox has the 3 rings on the plug.

    If I plug my Sony's into the Xbox controller with that bundled cord, will it work with the Sony's built-in microphone? I'd much prefer using these to game and chat than the low-quality headset I mentioned.

    Edit: turns out the bundled Sony cable is not the 3-ring, but the two ring. Oops. If I bought a 3-ring cable, would that work instead? I tried using some old Beats RemoteTalk cables I had laying around, but none of them picked up any mic info. I assume that's because it has its own inline mic.

    Stop doing free marketing work for these multi-billion dollar companies who don't care about you

    I just don't know what to say anymore to these accounts I see all over the internet that are devoted to negatively attacking another corporation in defense of the one who sells their console of choice. These are multi-billion dollar companies. There are people who get paid full time to do marketing for them who probably invest less time into it than you do arguing with people on Twitter and Reddit. If you watch graphic comparison videos just to make yourself feel better about your console and shit on another then I encourage you to reevaluate your priorities. No one has the right to tell someone else what to do with their time, but man, so many people spend their time engaging in internet wars over something they have absolutely no control over. I just came from a post titled "Should Microsoft buy CD Projekt Red??" Why the hell do you care? You'd think gamers these days all have stock invested in their console of choice. Don't lose sleep because of something an entertainment corporation is or isn't doing. Play games to have fun, people, and save your praise for the developers who actually work day and night to make the games you love to play.

    How to receive 3 Months Xbox Game Pass from bundle purchase?

    I bought a bundle about a month ago from GameStop (Gears tactics DL content, Assassins Creed Valhalla - physical copy, Headphones, Series X, a Controller, and 3 Month Xbox Game Pass)

    My xbox game pass just ran out and I scoured through my email.

    I have the Gears Tactics code sent to me, but there is no sign of the xbox game pass.
    Am I overlooking something? (yes I have check my spam / promotions folders in email, as well as logged in to my GameStop account)

    I can't get a hold of customer service. I left a negative review.

    Anybody know how to proceed or has experience with this issue?
