- This popped up in my Facebook memories today. It was my final for my Basic Design Principles and Practices class at UT Dallas. We had to take an existing logo and redesign it. I took the Xbox logo and drew inspiration from the original logo and mixed it with the Windows 10 logo. What do y’all think?

| Series X external storage has standby now! Posted: 30 Nov 2020 12:06 PM PST One of the things that blew my mind was how stupid the Xbox One S and X both handled many external USB 3.0 storage devices. I bought a couple cheap WD Passport 2TB hard drives for my consoles, and even with my Xbox set to "Energy Saving" mode which powers it down completely, any USB devices plugged in would continue to be powered - meaning unless I physically disconnected it, the HDD platters on the drive would be spinning constantly 24/7/365. Many people complained about this over the years to MS, and the community was some what divided because apparently some devices were shutting down. Basically boiled down to how the chipset on your enclosure worked - some spun up the drive as long as there was power; others only span up if the USB enumeration handshake was completed. This lead to the stupid argument that the xbox "had to" keep the power to the USB ports to charge controllers and whatnot. To contrast with PS4 - the power settings of the console allows you to set a three hour time limit on the USB ports receiving power after the system is put into Standby mode - and when Powered Off completely, it does just that. Well MS seems to have remedied their mistakes, as the Series X not only powers down USB storage devices fully when switched off, it even powers down devices that aren't being used when it's on - gaming from the internal SSD or idling. TL;DR New Xboxes don't keep your external HDDs spinning forever anymore when they aren't in use. [link] [comments] | ||

I'm looking into possibly treating myself to a series 2 controller to go along my series X coming soon, however, I got a series 1 elite controller that for its age still functions quite well. It has minimal drift that doesn't bother me too much and the only major issue is I would have to fix the bumpers ($20 to fix myself) but I am wondering if that will even be worth it. I could get an open box excellent series 2 with extended warranty from my Best Buy for about 200. So I guess I'm just looking what you random strangers on the interwebs would do. | Censorship of captured clips? (Series X) Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:48 AM PST Random question, but is there something in place that censors your captured content? I've been trying to capture a 30 sec clip of an MK11 brutality, but every time I try to capture, it just records a darkened clip with audio (you can see a little bit silhouetting, so it's not just a black screen). In other situations I'm able to make clips and screenshots with no trouble. My 2 guesses are either WB has something in place where you can't capture the finishing moves, or there's some sort of YouTube style auto censorship? Any thoughts? [link] [comments] | ||

If I connect my xbox series x to the HDMi switcher will I still get sound? Or is it possible to get sound from connecting the soundbar to wifi?
