Fan creation of Left 4 dead 3

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 08:15 PM PDT

So my last post on this subreddit was about how much i enjoy left 4 dead 2

So i came up with a concept for left 4 dead 3 And how to make it fresh with new concepts So playable characters can be all from the previous series besides bill(in single player and local co op) and this continues both of their stories, it (should) be released on pc and to be fair to all that still play left for dead 1 and 2 on the xbox 360

Controls should be similar to a shooter game in which you can actually aim with weapons with LT and shove will be remmapped to lb, crouch will be on B, other than that i think it will be good, inventory can use an "upgrade" but that might change the spirit of the game a bit

We keep everything else and get a ending thats good and final so we dont have to speculate what happened to all of them aftwe each game

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2x not working on xbox 360

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 08:06 PM PDT

I'm new to xbox and i wanted to play the xbox exclusive THPS2x on the 360. It's listed as backwards compatible but i can't seem to get the disc to work. I do have an official microsoft hardrive and i downloaded the latest system software update. Is xbox live required to play backwards compatible games?

Does a RROD always glitch first time it happens?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 05:23 PM PDT

In this video the guy says the RROD will always cause a glitch when it first happens. I was playing on mine (Elite 120GB) and it just shut down. Got it last weekend and tried it a couple of times during the last days but today I sat to properly play, about 4h into it, and this happened. No glitch, just a black down and as soon as I powered it back on, got the 3 lights RROD. The console wasn't even warm. It was modded and fans were at 80%; the previous days I tested it during a few minutes in-game and when jumped back to dash temps were barely 60ºC; idling on dash, they're ~41ºC).

From what I've been reading, it could also be the power brick, that shows a solid orange light. And when I press the on button on the console, it flashes red for a fraction of a second and then back to orange. I can't open the drive tray, the 3 red lights will immediately kick in (not sure if this is an indication of something else). I have another 360 that I got also secondhang but it didn't have a power brick. I tried the one I got and it showed the same RROD. From the secondary error codes, both tell it's 0001. But the strange thing is, the power brick seemed to work without issues on the Elite during these couple of days while it could'd do much for the fist console. Not sure what model it is but it's the first ones without an HDMI port. Now that I think of it, it could be because it draws more power and the Elite is more efficient, so the power brick hold it. Anyway, not sure what to do now. Can I order a 3rd party powerbrick replacement for cheap?

Am so excited for the Series X and back to gaming since the original Xbox/PS2. Finding this 360 in working condition just to have it died a few days later feels disappointing.

Xbox 360 Slim - hardly used, freezes in dashboard and games

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 04:52 PM PDT

Hi, I am hoping to get some advice on how to proceed with this situation. This was a new Xbox 360 Star Wars R2D2 Edition I got when it first came out. I played it for a few days but the wife decreed I should box it up and put it away as we just had our second baby and there was just too much going on.

So finally a few months ago I brought it up for some good times. It was running fine for a few weeks, but then the system started freezing up after about 5 -10 min of gaming from a fresh startup.

I had probably put less then 20-30 hrs on it.

The screen would show crazy pixel glitches/lines and whine very high pitched. It would happen with both disc and downloaded games on the HD.

Cleaning/dusting it (though there was hardly any dust inside), clearing cache, factory reset, removing/tightening the hard drive, reset wifi, nothing worked.

Then I found the elevated power supply on an open box trick and that worked but only for a few days. This time it was much worse, it would freeze within a minute or two of starting, even in the dash on startup.

I'm wondering if it's a faulty power supply, as I get the red dot light (not the RROD) when I restart it after each freeze. Then I have to unplug the power supply, even if I already had unplugged it, and re plug it to get the unit to start up properly. Also since the first time this happened a few months ago it was fixed with the power brick on the box trick.

I just don't want to waste any more money on getting a new power supply if the symptoms of the freezing are due to other more fatal issues with the GPU or CPU.

    Thanks for any advice!

Are the blue & red 360 wired controllers just as same as the "regular" ones?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 11:42 AM PDT

I need a new 360 controller since I have a 3rd party Rock Candy -controller (I think it's made by PDP) and the analog sticks etc. are too rigid and stiff for me to play certain games that I need precise stick controls for.

I heard that my controller's stick movement is way too stiff/rigid compared to the official controller based on a clip I showed someone where I had a controller layout on the screen so that they could see the stick movement. So it's not only inside my head.

Anyway I'm going to buy/order a wired one. Thought the colored ones look cooler but my main concern is that I need the regular X360-controllers buttons and sticks.

I think the red and blue ones are official Xbox controllers from Microsoft (not the Rock Candy or transparent -shell ones, just the plain red and blue) and was wondering should I just order the plain black controller or are the sticks and buttons exactly the same on the red and blue ones.
(I would assume so but you never know since they're not like the "regular" controller lookswise and I think I read that some special edition 360 controllers could have different analog sticks e.g. [also don't know that are the red/blue ones "special edition"])

TLDR; need a wired X360-controller and am wondering that does the red/blue (official) X360-controllers have the same buttons and analog sticks that the regular black controller has.
(3rd party controllers sticks are too rigid)

    Wireless Receiver trouble

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 09:57 AM PDT

(X-Post from r/Windows10) Hey Guys. This is slightly off-tangent from a console problem; but I imagine you're all 360 superfans. Bought one of these recently, unbeknownst to me the minefield of fuckery involved. I believe Windows are trying to terminate Receivers, as to encourage Xbox One accessories. The Receiver was purchased from CeX (Tech Refurb chain store) and they probably screwed with it too lol.

Here's my unique problem - once plugged in, I do NOT get a "CODE 28 - unknown device" like most users.

Instead, the device is mistakenly recognised as "Xbox Wired Controller". Not a Receiver. When I press the single Sync button on it, it opens the Xbox overlay thing, as if it were a controller. Steam also recognises it as a gamepad (big picture prompt).

As an unofficial third party receiver, it firstly needs a driver update. Because it's already recognised as an Xbox accessory (unfortunately the wrong one); I am presented with a limited list of driver options from device manager.

The drivers I need (2019, 2009) have code which references a different Hardware ID (Pid_0719) to my Receiver (Pid_028E). So after re-downloading them, I must edit the driver in notepad, replacing the old ID with my Knock-off receiver ID. To use the edited, unsigned driver, I'm running Windows in Test Mode. I have also disabled Memory Integrity, as suggested by Tarantulo.lt. I've followed the TarantuloTV fix as it's fairly recent with some great user feedback.

Device Manager recognises it as a Receiver now, but it still behaves like a wired controller. Still flashing, still won't sync to controller, still showing the Xbox overlay.

Most users' knock-off Reciever has an Id of Pid_0291. My issue, I think, is that MY Hardware ID Pid_028E is literally the same ID as the official Xbox Wired controller. And Pid_028E is now being shared between two separate devices in my driver's code - wired controller, and my wireless receiver. I've tried renaming the clashing reference as "Pid_028ECLASH" to avoid confusion. Still nothing.

I'm a little lost now. But as it does communicate with my computer as a gamepad, I don't see why it wouldn't work with more tweaking. I have hope.

    Any suggestions?
