    Assistance upgrading my 360's HDD - Need some guru advice

    Hey guys, hope this is the right place to post this, apologies if not. We've been digging out all our old consoles to polish them up, make sure they're working and upgrade where necessary. Our phat 360's original 20gb HDD is throwing an E68 error, and rather than use the spare x360 60gb drive I have, I'd like to upgrade to a WD Scorpio Blue WD1600BEVT I have onhand. Problem is, all the old tools/methods aren't working for me. Here's what I've done so far...

    1) Downloaded HDDHackr 1.4

    2) Formatted a USB thumbdrive for DOS booting, put HDDHackr, the recovery files and a 120gb hddss.bin on the drive

    3) Unhooked everything SATA, hooked up the 160gb WD BEVT to one of the cables

    4) Booted to DOS, tried the auto method for HDDHackr, got a "No ATA device found" error

    5) Went back to Windows (Win 10), ran msinfo32.exe to get the 7-byte difference I/O port info for manual HDDHackr PORT settings.

    Here's where my problem lies, that last step. msinfo32.exe no longer shows you the I/O info under Storage -> IDE for the onboard SATA chipsets. I'm running an HP Omen w/ a Moria3 mobo, Ryzen 5 processor and AMD SATA chipsets. I've scoured the web, HP's website, all the places I can think of to determine what the I/O address/PORT setting should be for my onboard SATA. Tried different versions of msinfo32 for older Windows OSes, tried alternative hardware info apps, no luck.

    So, my main question is, in the far off year of 2021 (from when Xbox 360 HDD flashing was a thing), how can I go about flashing a new HDD for my 360? Is there a more modern alternative to HDDHackr that doesn't involve spending nearly $100, like on the Xecuter X360USB? Or is there a newer method my searches haven't turned up yet? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    Unable to sign in with old email

    I recently decided to go back on my Xbox 360 after a good few years. Then when I tried to sign in to live, it doesn't allow me to, even when I'm putting the same email and password that I used to make the account. The email that I used to make the account wasn't a Microsoft one so I thought maybe signing in with my Microsoft account would maybe get me to login in but no it said that account didn't have an Xbox live account. I'm able to sign onto to live with the other accounts on my Xbox but not my main one with all my progress and purchases. So just wondering if anyone has any advice on how I would be able to log in? Any help is appreciated

    Why do you still use an original Xbox360 console? - Discussion

    Hi everyone,

    I was just wondering what the train of thought is for most people to still use an original Xbox360 console. With original I mean any xbox360 model out there.

    This while we now have xbox one and xbox X/S that can run most of these games perfectly fine. I know not all of them are available or work great. So if there is one out there that you boot up your original xbox360 for, let us know. Don't list them, I know them, this topic is focused on why you personally still use your original xbox360.

    For me personally the reason is pretty simple. I moved to PS4 and PS5 after xbox360.

    Without going to much in depth why I did that switch it's because the exclusives of the ps4 out weighted those that I want to play on xbox one. And I couldn't justify a second console for those few that I did miss out on. Why PS5 you ask? Well because Demon Souls ans the like. But I might get an Xbox X/S down the line if there are more exclusives in the future on xbox (looks at bethesda games for example).

    But yeah tl:dr for now I only have an original xbox360 that I still use for xbox360 games because of the simple fact that I don't own any new xbox consoles and don't plan on getting one soon. Also sweet original Kameo/35anniversary UNO xD.

    PS: I have a huge xbox360 physical library so running a modded xbox360 to run backups doesn't interest me personally. I get that is a reason for quite a few people out there to still use an original (modded) xbox360.

    Turn off your 360 then Go to this link https://social.xbox.com/changegamertag and enter your new gamertag! After you do that make sure you sign out of everything that has to do with your account. (Xbox app, minecraft, websites,) then go back to your 360 and turn it on. Go to download profile when you choosing an account sign in, then enter your Microsoft account information and boom enjoy your new gamertag (:
